Job Summary: 
Reporting to the Sr. Director of Brand Marketing (ATLUS Transmedia), this role serves as a key contributor within the brand marketing function, acting as a primary liaison between SEGA of America’s marketing teams and global business & IP teams.  This position will be responsible for driving core brand initiatives defined by the Sr. Brand Director while supporting the development of brand plans and assets across multiple channels including consumer products, games, animated content, events, music, and emerging opportunities.  

 

This role partners closely with the Brand, Licensing, Games Publishing, Partnerships, EMEA and ATLUS IP teams to ensure alignment of brand strategies with business goals and to help support the growth of ATLUS IP. 

 

This role requires experience in brand management, consumer marketing and licensing, with demonstrated experience in global campaign and creative strategy development, and cross-functional coordination. This role will operate as an ambassador for both internal and external stakeholders, including Tokyo-based ATLUS teams. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Contribute to the development of brand marketing strategies across ATLUS IP, supporting lifecycle planning and execution with a focus on Western markets (Americas & EMEA).  

  • Support budget management and ensure business plan goals are achieved while maximizing global campaign effectiveness.  

  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams to ensure marketing, licensing, game and partner marketing executions are integrated and aligned with the project’s strategic goals.    

  • Drive marketing campaigns including creative development and strategy, asset production, digital content, channel, promotions, and licensing partnership opportunities.  

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Brand marketing execution to support the overall brand, coordinating across various stakeholders and ensuring workback schedules and deadlines are aligned and met.  

  • Act as a liaison between Brand Marketing and key internal functions including Legal, Creative Services, CRM, Web, PR, and Community.   

  • Support marketing-focused licensing partnerships, including managing internal and partner communications.  

  • Support operational aspects of brand marketing including all marketing approvals, legal contract coordination, and invoice processing.   

  • Manage brand marketing resources, including promotional merchandise that can be used for giveaways, to support marketing campaign needs.  

  • Provide regular updates to brand marketing, product marketing, and licensing teams across all regions.  

  • Assist in various consumer research and business data analysis projects to inform recommendations for marketing strategies & franchise planning. 

  • Provide full support for marketing events as needed. 

  • Manage creative agencies, event agencies, and promotional partner onboarding and communication for brand marketing plans. 

  • Champion and evolve the voice of the ATLUS brands for both core audiences and new fan segments. 

  • Other responsibilities are performed as assigned or needed.  

Qualifications

Qualifications and Skills: 

  • Working in-office is an essential function of this position. This requirement of face-to-face interaction is in place to ensure effective supervision, collaboration, and teamwork.  In-office attendance is required for the following reasons:  

  • For effective supervision of employees and our work product, which includes ensuring all employees have necessary oversight of their work and access to supervisory assistance, which includes meetings to review work product, deadlines, and status.  

  • To foster communication and collaboration among team members, which includes the following: allowing for spontaneous brainstorming sessions and exchanges of ideas, quick access to team members to enable collaborative problem-solving, and stronger cohesion among co-workers and within teams.  

  • To enhance the sharing of information necessary to effective job performance and product creation.   

  • To enhance understanding of our stakeholders’ work and business needs, facilitate a more seamless and organic workflow, and ultimately increase efficiency and successful outcomes.  

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in the field.  

  • 3-5+ years of experience in brand marketing. Experience in game publisher marketing, licensing, marketing agencies and/or consumer products is a plus.    

  • Proven track record of producing highly creative and imaginative campaigns for major global brands, showing strong results and achieving business goals.  

  • Experience working on global marketing campaigns for products that have large consumer audiences across multiple entertainment channels (e.g., film/TV, games, publishing).   

  • Knowledge of the ATLUS IPs and brand along with the games/entertainment industries strongly preferred.  

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint and Excel), with the ability to develop global brand and marketing plans, create pitch and sales decks, and support campaign budgets with knowledge of P&L concepts  

  • Ability to leverage quantitative analytic measures, build business cases, and translate findings to support initiatives tied to KPI / ROI metrics.   

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects with various teams in a fast-paced environment.   

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to leadership stakeholders.  

  • Positive, proactive, and solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to work autonomously. 

 

Bonus: 

  • Experience with A/V creative process including Key Art and trailer development.  

  • Background in creative or media agencies is a plus.  

  • Familiarity with digital and consumer marketing channels including performance marketing, social media, and influencer marketing.   

  • Bilingual proficiency in Japanese.
