Position Summary
Hanna is seeking a passionate and driven Art Director to join our in-house photography team. In this position, you'll work closely with the VP of Creative and creative leaders to develop seasonal brand guides and oversee the creation of product assets, including styled flats, product flats, on-body PDP imagery, and select video assets. You'll also partner with channel owners to create seasonal asset lists that meet cross-functional needs.
This role is based in Portland, OR, but remote work on the West Coast may be considered for the right candidate. Occasional travel might be required.
Essentials Functions
- Oversee product photography, styled flats, and on-body PDP shoots within our in-house photo team.
- Concept, plan, and art direct styled flat photography in partnership with our studio team.
- Partner with photographers, retouchers, and designers to capture, select, and publish content across our website and marketing materials.
- Collaborate with brand marketing and channel owners to ensure campaigns and seasonal initiatives are visually aligned and effective.
- Work cross-functionally with teams like Design, Merchandising, and eCommerce to maintain cohesive storytelling across all touchpoints.
- Support the VP of Creative in conceptualizing seasonal photo shoots by contributing to mood boards, casting recommendations, styling direction, hair/makeup concepts, and location planning.
- Ensure adherence to style guides and established workflows, while proactively identifying ways to improve processes and tools that support creative operations.
- Work efficiently under tight deadlines, delivering high-quality work without sacrificing creativity.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in photo art direction and commercial photography, ideally within a fashion retail environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art, Graphic Design, Photography/Video Production, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven, hands-on experience with still-life styling for product-focused photography.
- A sharp, discerning eye for visual storytelling that blends brand vision with strategic goals.
- Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite/Cloud (Photoshop, Premiere, Bridge, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat), Capture One, and Figma.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Highly organized and process-driven, with a track record of meeting deadlines.
- Excellent creative and conceptualization skills.
- Strong project management skills—able to prioritize, coordinate, communicate, and keep production schedules on track.
- Flexible, solutions-oriented, and calm under pressure.
- Comfortable working in environments that include babies and children.
