We’re looking for a curious, detail-oriented problem solver to join our Support Maintenance Services team. In this role, you’ll help us identify and troubleshoot performance issues across our platform — whether they originate in the code, the database, or the infrastructure.

You’ll work alongside a collaborative team that’s focused on reliability, observability, and internal tooling. It’s a great fit for someone with a strong technical foundation, an interest in diagnosing complex issues, and a desire to grow their skills in application performance and platform operations.

What You’ll Do

  • Play a key role in maintaining the performance and reliability of a platform used by major financial institutions — your investigations help prevent client impact before it happens
  • Diagnose slowdowns, timeouts, and system issues using powerful tools like Splunk, Dynatrace, and SolarWinds
  • Analyze real-world application behavior — digging into Java stack traces, SQL execution plans, and other performance clues to get to the root of issues
  • Collaborate with experienced engineers across teams to help resolve performance problems quickly and clearly
  • Translate technical findings into actionable insights that improve the stability and scalability of our platform
  • (Bonus) Contribute to internal tools that improve how we monitor, maintain, and support the system — helping the whole company move faster and smarter

You Might Be a Fit If You...

  • Have some experience working with Java-based applications (e.g., debugging logs, tracing code)
    OR
  • Have a background in SQL Server (e.g., analyzing query performance, execution plans, waits, etc.)

And you also:

  • Are comfortable using or learning tools like Splunk, Dynatrace, or SolarWinds
  • Have strong problem-solving instincts and enjoy digging into technical issues
  • Communicate clearly — in writing and in conversation
  • Want to grow your skills in application performance, observability, and site reliability engineering — or explore a future in SRE or platform engineering

Bonus Points For

  • Experience performance tuning SQL queries
  • Familiarity with performance monitoring dashboards
  • Basic scripting or automation skills
  • Interest in building internal tools or improving operational workflows

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
