Associate Account Manager, Vrbo:
Introduction to the team:

As an Associate Account Manager on the Vrbo team, you’ll be at the forefront of helping Vacation Rental Hosts grow their business through Vrbo and Expedia Group.

This is more than a support role — it’s a strategic partnership built on insight, influence, and impact. You’ll use performance data, marketplace trends, and a consultative approach to challenge hosts' current strategies and guide them toward better results.

You’ll need to be both strategically sharp and operationally strong — balancing high-volume partner engagement with deep, outcome-driven conversations that drive meaningful change.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage a portfolio of Vacation Rental Hosts and act as a trusted advisor, helping them reimagine their approach to content, pricing, availability, and traveler appeal

  • Use insights, data, and trends to challenge the status quo, helping partners uncover blind spots and adopt new ways of thinking

  • Deliver tailored recommendations that align with host maturity, property type, and market demand to maximize bookings and visibility

  • Confidently lead conversations that influence behavior change, even in the face of resistance or ambiguity

  • Maintain a high-output rhythm of consultations, follow-ups, and reporting across a large book of business

  • Recommend platform tools and Vrbo/Expedia Group solutions that align to business goals and improve the end-to-end traveler experience

  • Collaborate with internal teams to escalate issues, remove friction, and share insights that benefit the broader marketplace

  • Conduct primarily virtual engagements, with occasional in-person meetings (up to 10% travel)

  • Experience with the vacation rental or broader travel industry is a plus

  • A hybrid structure that values flexibility and connection: 3 days in the office, 2 remote

  • A mission-driven team that thrives on curiosity, collaboration, and measurable impact

  • A full benefits package including travel perks, generous time off, parental leave, and career development resources

  • Competitive pay with performance-based incentives and long-term growth potential

  • A culture that rewards strategic thinking, encourages bold moves, and values diverse perspectives

Experience and Qualifications:

  • 2–4 years of experience in account management, sales, or client services — ideally in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills; you know how to look at data, spot the “why,” and act on it

  • Comfort influencing decisions and guiding others through change with confidence and clarity

  • Excellent communication skills — you know how to simplify the complex, listen with intention, and move conversations forward

  • Proven ability to manage time, prioritize activities, and balance multiple goals simultaneously

  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Tableau, or similar CRM/BI tools

  • A strong sense of ownership and follow-through — you don’t wait for things to happen, you make them happen

We’re shaping the future of travel — and we’d love for you to be part of it.

The total cash range (inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target) for this position in Austin is $70,000.00 to $98,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $112,000.00, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role. Incentive plan performance above target will also earn more than the incentive target compensation amount.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
