About Us

Rho is the modern banking platform built for startups. Open accounts in minutes, issue cards, manage expenses, pay bills, and close the books – all in one connected platform backed by real human support.

About the Role

As an Associate Account Executive on Rho's SMB team in New York, you will own full-cycle sales for our small business vertical, from initial outreach through close. This is not a setter role: you will be responsible for generating your own pipeline through high-volume dialing and digital outreach, then running the deal all the way to signed customer. SMB is a dedicated, growing vertical for Rho, and this role is built to scale with it.

You'll spend the majority of your time on the phone and in inbox, prospecting, qualifying, and closing small business deals. This is a self-starter role centered on digital outreach rather than in-person relationship or community building. Event and tradeshow participation is available, but only once you've established a track record of meeting performance targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Run full-cycle sales for SMB prospects, from first outreach through close, without handing deals off to a senior AE

  • Identify and hand off large accounts that exceed SMB deal criteria to a Senior Account Executive, with compensation credit for the handoff

  • Conduct high-volume outbound dialing, email, and digital outreach to generate and qualify your own pipeline

  • Own deal progression: discovery, negotiation, and close for small deal flow

  • Maintain accurate records and pipeline hygiene in our CRM system

  • Learn and articulate Rho's value proposition to SMB prospects

  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to stay current on features and promotions relevant to the SMB segment

  • Contribute to sales strategy and tactics specific to growing the SMB vertical

  • Attend tradeshows only once performance targets have been consistently met.

Requirements
  • 1+ year of dialing experience, with a demonstrated ability to generate pipeline through high-volume outbound calling

  • Competency for closing small deal flow full cycle, not solely booking meetings for others

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities

  • A self-starter mindset with a focus on digital outreach over in-person relationship building

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Results oriented.

  • Passion for fintech and willingness to learn about financial products and services

Our people are our most valuable asset. The base salary for this role is $74,000. In addition to base pay, Rho offers equity, healthcare benefits and paid time off. This role is eligible for an uncapped performance bonus paid monthly. Inclusive of on-target performance bonuses, the total compensation target for this role is $100,500.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
