Overview:
The Assistant Textiles Developer plays a critical role in Alo Yoga’s Raw Materials team, bridging design and technical expertise to develop fabrics that align with the brand’s vision. You will focus on supporting the development, testing, and validation of materials while providing advisory input during the commercialization process. Partnering with suppliers and cross-functional teams, you will help ensure fabrics meet Alo Yoga’s quality, performance, and aesthetic standards.
Responsibilities:
- Material Development: Collaborate with the Textiles Developer and fabric suppliers to support the develop of fabrics that meet seasonal and performance goals.
- Testing & Validation: Conduct technical validation, manage fabric testing, and support risk assessments to ensure materials align with quality and usage expectations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Product Integrity, Commercialization, and Production teams to provide necessary documentation and testing support, ensuring a smooth transition from development to commercialization.
- Supplier Engagement: Build and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers
- Seasonal Calendar Management: Support fabric development timelines by assisting the Senior Textiles Developer and Textiles Developer in following the seasonal development calendar and ensuring all key fabric milestones are met.
- Trend Awareness: Stay informed on material trends, innovations, and industry developments to identify opportunities for Alo Yoga.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in fabric development or production, with a focus on performance or technical fabrics.
- Strong understanding of raw material construction and manufacturing techniques.
- Familiarity with AATCC and ASTM testing protocols and standards.
- Experience working directly with fabric suppliers to manage developments and provide technical feedback.
- Ability to advise and collaborate effectively during fabric commercialization processes without direct ownership.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical information clearly.
- Proficiency in managing data in PLM systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Self-starter with a proactive mindset, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
The Base Salary Range for this position is $68,000 - $70,000 per year which represents the current range for the base salary for this exempt position. Please note that actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. As such, on occasion and when applicable, there is the possibility that the final, agreed-upon base salary may be outside of the upper end of the range. Please also note the range listed is just one component of the Company’s total rewards package for exempt employees. Other rewards may include performance bonuses, long term incentives, a PTO policy, and many other progressive benefits.
