Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Project and Site Manager and Technical Supervisor in resolving construction issues.

  • Coordinates site meetings, defines agendas, and prepares minutes.

  • Reviews schedules, procedures, and safety reports prepared by the Subcontractor.

  • Accountable for setting the Safety Standard on the Project.  This Assistant Site Manager must lead by example and establish productivity monitoring procedures and/or processes to assure quality of work on a progressive basis.

  • Liaises with the Owner and Government officials as it pertains to the project.

  • Provides knowledge of local means and methods

  • Provides knowledge of heavy equipment installation

  • Responsible for the communications with the representatives of the Trade Labor Unions on and off site.

Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and background:

  • Class B General Building Contractor License or Class C Specialty Contractors License—C-61/D-34 (Prefabricated Equipment Contractor)

  • As noted at the above link: D-34 Contractors can perform and contract to perform “installations of prefabricated products/equipment, including . (b) Laboratory and medical equipment. ”

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field required

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the direction of construction site activities

  • It is essential/required to have an active CA Class B General Contractors License or a Class C-61/D-34 Specialty Contractors License (Prefabricated Equipment Contractor)

  • Knowledge of local means and methods

  • Knowledge of heavy equipment installation

  • Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook

  • Ability to perform other duties as assigned or directed.

Pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area.
