Job DescriptionRole Overview
We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of mission-critical and data centre projects across Hong Kong and the wider Asia region.
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will play a key role in coordinating project activities from planning and design through construction, testing & commissioning, and final handover. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to complex data centre projects while working alongside experienced industry professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Project Manager and project team in the successful delivery of data centre, critical facilities, and MEP-led construction projects.
Coordinate project activities throughout the project lifecycle, including planning, design development, procurement, construction, testing & commissioning, and handover.
Monitor project schedules, milestones, and key deliverables to ensure timely project execution.
Assist in managing project risks, issues, and change control processes.
Prepare project documentation, including reports, meeting minutes, action trackers, project dashboards, and client presentations.
Coordinate communication and information flow between clients, consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
Participate in project meetings, workshops, and site inspections, ensuring project objectives and actions are clearly tracked and communicated.
Assist in reviewing technical submissions, construction programmes, method statements, testing & commissioning plans, and project progress reports.
Support project governance, reporting, budgeting, and cost tracking activities.
Ensure project documentation is maintained accurately within project management systems and digital platforms.
Promote best practices in health, safety, quality, and risk management throughout project delivery.
Support the successful transition of projects into operational readiness and client handover.
Requirements
Degree in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
Minimum 2-5 years of experience in project management, project coordination, construction, building services, MEP, or data centre-related projects.
Experience working on data centres, critical facilities, mission-critical environments, or large-scale MEP projects would be highly advantageous.
Good understanding of project delivery processes across design, procurement, construction, testing & commissioning, and handover phases.
Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
A collaborative team player who works effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, and cross-functional project teams.
Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced project environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and SharePoint.
Knowledge of project management software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 is an advantage.
Fluency in both English and Chinese (written and spoken).
