At BiVACOR, we’re developing the world’s most advanced total artificial heart, a technology capable of saving millions of lives around the world. We’re a team united by purpose, working on something truly unprecedented. Every part you track down, every work order you keep moving, and every schedule you protect plays a direct role in giving patients another shot at life. If that’s the kind of work that gets you out of bed in the morning, we think you belong here.

Assistant Production Expediter

This is a hands-on, learning-rich role at the heart of BiVACOR's production operations, where you will develop foundational skills in manufacturing coordination while supporting the Senior Production Supervisor in delivering the world's first Total Artificial Heart on schedule. As Assistant Production Expediter, you will help keep materials, work orders, and information flowing smoothly between the shop floor and the supply chain, building the organizational instincts and cross-functional awareness that define a successful production career. You'll bring a strong attention to detail, eagerness to learn, and a proactive mindset that contributes to a complex, low-volume precision manufacturing program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in tracking production work orders from release through completion, flagging potential bottlenecks to the Senior Production Supervisor

  • Support coordination with Procurement and Supply Chain by monitoring incoming material delivery status and communicating updates to the team

  • Help maintain and update the shop floor schedule daily, relaying priority changes to production technicians and assemblers under supervisor guidance

  • Serve as a liaison-in-training between Production, Quality, Engineering, and Purchasing to help ensure materials, documentation, and resources are available when needed

  • Monitor work order traveler status, identify missing sign-offs or incomplete documentation, and escalate to the appropriate team member for resolution

  • Compile and distribute daily/weekly production status reports and escalation summaries for the Senior Production Supervisor

  • Assist with shipping and receiving coordination for production-related components, subassemblies, and vendor-managed inventory

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in progress or completed in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or a related field preferred

  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, production, or supply chain environment; internship or co-op experience welcome

  • Basic familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, or similar) or a willingness to learn; experience tracking work orders or inventory a plus

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing tasks while staying attentive to detail

  • Awareness of or curiosity about Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and the importance of accurate documentation in a regulated environment

  • Clear and proactive communicator, comfortable asking questions, flagging concerns, and working across teams

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for basic tracking and reporting

  • Positive, can-do attitude, highly detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and eager to grow within it

What We Offer

BiVACOR offers a competitive compensation package and comprehensive benefits, including:

  • 401(k) with company matching

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance

  • Health Savings Account (HSA) & Flexible Spending Account (FSA)

  • Life insurance & Employee Assistance Program

  • Generous paid time off

This role is based on-site at BiVACOR’s Huntington Beach headquarters. The expected salary range for this position is $50,000 to $60,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
