Job Summary

RPA seeks an energetic, proactive, quick-thinking Assistant Media Planner to join the CoStar Group media strategy team. This young professional will work closely with the Media Planner on the day-to-day account management, plan development, and implementation of media campaigns for Apartments.com and Homes.com. This position will work on cross-channel strategy across TV & streaming, audio & podcasts, digital, social, and out-of-home. Our dynamic team thrives on hand-raisers who are eager to learn and willing to jump in and take on new challenges. The candidate must be resourceful, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and have great communication and organization skills. This is an entry-level position and does not require a college degree.

This position is classified as hybrid, with an expectation of in-office presence at our Santa Monica, HQ two (2) days per week. The specific in-office days may be determined in coordination with your manager and are subject to change based on business needs.

What You’ll Be Working On 

  • Assist team in formulating and compiling media recommendations (i.e., strategic recommendations, campaign briefs, and tactical recommendations)
  • Responsible for weekly and monthly reporting (i.e., flowcharts, budget inputs, competitive deep dives, Media Tools inputs, campaign buy details, etc.) 
  • Assist the Media Planner on campaign execution, management, and reporting
  • Compile data from syndicated research runs, analyze and extract insights to inform strategy 
  • Train and manage work for Interns

  • Strong Oral/Written Communication: Is clear and concise in all communications 
  • Managing Up: Takes the initiative in communicating progress of projects with managers regularly without prompting 
  • Accurate/Detailed Oriented: Takes diligent notes in all situations; Triple checks work and formatted to ensure it’s in a presentable manner 
  • Relationship Builder/Team Player: Develops collaborative relationships with internal/external teams and media vendors 
  • Adaptable: Can take constructive criticism and demonstrate progress; Stays calm in high-pressure situations 
  • Proactive/Solutions Oriented: Comes to the table with potential solutions for tasks/issues and knows when to escalate urgent issues; raises hand for additional tasks when the day-to-day is under control 
  • Eagerness to Learn: Has a thirst for knowledge and a desire to learn more about the media landscape, marketplace, and client’s business
  • Comfortable with numbers/general math  
  • Ability to interpret research and analyze data 
  • Ability to think strategically and work on numerous assignments concurrently
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)  

Pay and Compensation

This is a non-exempt position and is eligible for overtime compensation. 

The hourly rate for this position is $20.00 an hour, which is the equivalent to $36,400 gross pay a year.

Pay for this opportunity is not negotiable.

Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position.  The Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
