Who What Wear is looking for an Assistant Managing Editor with project management experience to join our . The Assistant Managing Editor role would ideally be based in Los Angeles and will report to the Managing Editor.
What you'll do
- Project managing the Editorial Sponsored Content process through all stages of production—from briefing and assigning to tracking subtask due dates and final delivery
- Communicate with internal production, Editorial, and Branded Content teams to fulfill client deliverables on time while meeting client expectations
- Assist the Managing Editor with inputting weekly assignments into Asana for the Edit Team
- Support the Managing Editor with daily production management, including facilitating daily production check-in Asana status communication with the Editorial team
- Create project timelines and tracking tentpole feature projects through all stages of creative and editorial development
- Ensure all departments involved in major tentpole projects operate as a united team
- Manage monthly advertiser campaign by updating our project management tool (Asana)
- Create comprehensive project documentation, and audit editorial spreadsheets for workflow optimization
- Support the Editorial team to ensure Editors feel both confident in putting forth their best work and comfortable enough to spark collaborative conversations regarding processes
Experience that will put you ahead of the curve
- 2+ years of project management experience or a similar role with a portfolio of work that shows success at collaborating with several teams across business categories, including distribution, art, sales, and data teams
- Well above average organizational and time-management skills with a strong attention to detail
- Open and responsive to feedback to improve the quality of work and performance
- Experience auditing, finessing, building, and maintaining processes to maximize efficiency and workflow optimization
- Can work calmly under pressure, proactively communicate, and meet tight daily deadlines with a strong sense of accountability
- Confidence and flexibility to solve challenges and maintain progress
- Platform-specific knowledge—Asana, Google Workspace, SEO tools, Looker Studio, etc.
