RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with new and key suppliers to ensure reliable supply and to foster opportunities for cost savings and innovation.
- Global Sourcing: Influence and evaluate global sourcing opportunities to optimize costs while maintaining quality standards.
- Strategic Partnerships: Develop strategic partnerships with key vendors to secure long-term benefits for both parties.
- Purchase Order Management: Create, issue and manage New Launch purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of materials and finished goods.
- Risk Management: Identify potential supply chain risks (e.g., supplier issues, delays to launch plan, logistics disruptions) and develop contingency plans. Drive results with cross functional departments (e.g., Product Development, Packaging, Marketing, Finance) to ensure supply chain strategies support new launch calendar and overall business objectives.
- Vendor Performance Metrics: Manage a set of key performance indicators (KPIs) for evaluating vendor performance in areas such as OTIF, quality, cost optimization, customer service levels.
- Continuous Improvement: Use scorecard data to identify areas for improvement and work with vendors to enhance performance and resolve issues. Communicate supply chain performance and challenges to cross functional departments, providing insights and recommendations for improvements.
- Inventory Management: Partner with Demand & Supply Planning to optimize inventory levels to ensure product availability without overstocking. Lead monthly component inventory reconciliation with suppliers and contract manufacturers.
- Logistics: Partner with Logistics on freight forwarder selections to ensure timely deliveries from supplier to supplier and contract manufactures to warehouse.
- Warehouse: Partner with 3PL Operations department on delivery discrepancies to ensure all contract manufactures are producing within +/- 5% tolerance.
- Master Data: Partner with Inventory Planning department to ensure new SKU, UPC and BOM creations in NetSuite in advance of creating New Launch purchase orders and receiving transfer orders.
- Up to 10% international and domestic travel required.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-5 years of experience in supply chain management, within the beauty or personal care industry, with a strong focus on color or shaded beauty.
- Proficiency with Excel and ERP system, preferably NetSuite.
- Experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain strategy development, and vendor management.
- Demonstrated ability in managing supplier relationships.
- Maintain vendor scorecard systems and utilize KPIs to measure performance.
- Familiarity with global sourcing and sustainable sourcing practices.
- Excellent strategic thinking capabilities to develop and implement effective supply chain strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex projects and multi-task with excellent organization skills.
- Proficient in risk management and capacity planning to anticipate and mitigate potential supply chain disruptions.
- Strong financial acumen to adhere to budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
