‭ A Lot About You

We’re seeking a highly organized, proactive Assistant Editor to support Yahoo’s evergreen commerce content team. This role plays a critical part in helping our editors produce meaningful, test-based product reviews and evergreen buying guides that empower our readers to make informed purchasing decisions — both big and small.

The ideal candidate has strong editorial production skills, a passion for commerce content, and is eager to contribute to a collaborative team. You’ll work closely with editors, freelancers, and operations teams to support the entire lifecycle of tested products — from procurement and logistics to writing and publishing content.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with 1–2 years of editorial experience looking to grow within the commerce space and contribute meaningfully to a dynamic content operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide logistical and editorial support for Yahoo’s evergreen commerce team, with a focus on the product testing program

  • Assist editors with research, reporting, writing, and updating evergreen commerce content

  • Coordinate shipping and receiving of product samples for testing across key verticals (including but not limited to home, style, health, and gifting) on a rolling basis

  • Track the full lifecycle of product samples — from calling in to expense reports to donation or return — and help create and maintain systems for inventory management

  • Coordinate with the Commerce Updates team to proactively identify upcoming products in the pipeline and request them in advance for testing

  • Manage in-office test setups and assist editors with hands-on testing logistics

  • Build commerce articles in Yahoo’s CMS, including sourcing and optimizing images 

  • Help manage testing documentation, including surveys, results logs, photos, and digital testing procedure libraries

  • Support the editorial team during high-traffic tentpole events as needed
     

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience in digital publishing, preferably in commerce content

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and responsive

  • Strong writing skills; ability to turn in clean, concise copy

  • Experience working in a CMS and using tools like Airtable, Google Suite, and Excel

  • Solid understanding of SEO and how to optimize content for search

  • Familiarity with analytics and performance tools is a plus

  • Strong research and reporting skills; able to support editors and content initiatives across multiple categories

  • Interest in product testing, consumer trends, and editorial production workflows

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

  • Team player with a proactive, can-do attitude — willing to pitch in wherever needed

The compensation for this position ranges from $56,250.00 - $117,500.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
