About the Opportunity
A nationally recognized manufacturing leader is seeking a strategic and hands-on Assistant Controller to support financial operations and help drive accounting excellence across a multi-entity organization. This role partners closely with executive leadership and operational teams to strengthen financial reporting, improve internal controls, and support long-term organizational growth.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys balancing high-level financial strategy with day-to-day accounting leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Controller in overseeing daily accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting.
Assist with preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Manage and improve internal controls, policies, and accounting procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency.
Oversee and mentor accounting staff, supporting professional development and performance management.
Partner with operations, supply chain, and leadership teams to provide financial insights and cost analysis.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support business decision-making.
Coordinate external audits and support regulatory reporting requirements.
Monitor fixed assets, inventory accounting, and cost accounting processes.
Drive process improvement initiatives and support system implementations or enhancements.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
CPA or CPA-eligible strongly preferred
6+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within manufacturing or industrial environments
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
Experience with cost accounting and inventory management strongly preferred
Proven leadership experience managing or mentoring accounting teams
Advanced ERP system experience and strong Excel skills
Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
