Accounting Manager / Assistant Controller – SEC & Technical Accounting Focus
8020 Consulting is seeking a seasoned Accounting Manager / Assistant Controller with strong SEC reporting and technical accounting experience to join our dynamic finance team. This role is ideal for professionals who thrive in complex, fast-paced environments and want to leverage their expertise in US GAAP, SEC reporting, and technical accounting guidance.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the preparation and review of SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K, S-1, etc.) and other regulatory reporting.
- Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions, including ASC 606, ASC 718, business combinations, and other US GAAP matters.
- Partner with external auditors, ensuring timely and accurate completion of audits and related deliverables.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals.
- Drive process improvements and implement best practices to streamline month-end close, financial reporting, and compliance.
Ideal candidates also have:
- CPA preferred with 5+ years of public company accounting experience, including SEC reporting.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and technical accounting standards.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems; Sage Intacct experience a plus.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proven ability to manage complex accounting issues and partner across finance and business teams.
