About the Opportunity

As part of the Product Leadership Team, the new product team drives category growth and brand affinity through product innovation. The new product team translates the needs and preferences of consumers into new products, bringing new product concepts to life and making them a marketplace success.
The Assistant Product Line Manager will support product line management, development and execution from strategy through end of life. This role will be responsible for the successful execution of plan through collaboration with cross functional teams and guidance the Product Line Manager. The ideal candidate is passionate about food and/or agriculture and is energized being on the front line between consumers and Driscoll’s to innovate and create excitement in the marketplace. The Assistant Product Line Manager must be comfortable working in a fast paced and complex environment, organizing activities with other business functions from end-to-end, keeping teams on track to product timelines, and working collaboratively to influence change.

 Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the Product Line Manager and New Product Leadership, the Assistant Product Line Manager supports the development of new products including ideation, writing business cases, conducting market analysis, and writing product positioning.
  • Owns specific activities in the Product Development Process and works with internal partners to execute against a plan.
  • Collaborating with Market Insights to conduct and analyze consumer research and market trends.
  • Supports packaging development with Procurement and Post-Harvest.
  • Collaborates with the Brand and Shopper Marketing team on asset creation and execution of marketing activities for new product launches
  • Partners with Customer Development to support the development and execution of product placement and customer distribution strategies in alignment with GTM objectives and the product strategies
  • Supports go-to-market strategies activities by for new and existing product lines, participating on GTM teams and solving problems
  • Owns specific projects in support of long-term strategy development for product segmentation
  • Leads project teams to align internal stakeholders and drive results through the business
  • Collaborates with the NPD PMO to update and track activities
  • Works with internal communications to communicate and promote new product launches

    Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Product Management, Marketing, or New Product Development.
  • Demonstrates strong skills in project and program management.
  • Demonstrates strategic thinking and analytical skills.
  • Ability to navigate complex situations and has strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence and manage change.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-driven and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work independently and though a collaborative team setting.  
  • Thrives in a fast-past environment and can manage multiple projects on tight deadlines.
  • Sound understanding of research principles/techniques and comfortable working with data.
  • Advanced level of computer skills including use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with reporting software preferred (Tableau).
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • May travel for business up to 10% of work time.
  • Valid CA Driver’s License and eligibility for company vehicle insurance required.

Compensation & Benefits:

The following information is provided in good faith as a general description of the salary range and benefits for the position posted.  The actual compensation offered to the successful candidate is dependent upon experience, skills, education, work location, internal pay equity, and other objective job-related factors.

Salary Range estimated for the Asistant Product Line Manager: $69,578  to $90,451  USD.
