SUMMARY:

The Art Director will play a critical role in shaping the creative soul of our brand—building a visual world that is both deeply evocative and unmistakably ours. This role blends conceptual storytelling with hands-on execution, leading the creative development of campaign narratives, photoshoot direction, and brand design across all touchpoints. As a visual leader, you’ll guide a small team of graphic designers while working cross-functionally with marketing, production, and brand leads to evolve and refine the look and feel of everything we create—from seasonal launches to evergreen content. This is an opportunity to create meaning through design, and to help tell stories that resonate.

Reports to: SVP Marketing

 Location: LA-based

What You’ll Do:
  • Concept and craft cohesive brand stories that come to life through campaigns, photoshoots, digital content, and physical experiences.
  • Build and lead the brand’s visual language, refining our identity while continuously pushing for fresh, emotionally resonant creative expressions.
  • Direct photoshoots and video productions, with a focus on composition, casting, styling, and art direction that reflects the brand’s tone and voice.
  • Oversee a small team of graphic designers, providing thoughtful feedback and mentorship while ensuring all design work meets a high creative standard.
  • Design campaign and evergreen assets across digital channels—email, site, paid media, organic social, and more—maintaining consistency and elegance.
  • Develop creative briefs, moodboards, and shoot decks that translate abstract ideas into clear, actionable direction for internal and external collaborators.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to bring seasonal marketing and brand initiatives to life through powerful, design-led storytelling.
  • Stay attuned to cultural trends, design movements, and category aesthetics to inform and inspire new creative approaches.
Who You Are:
  • 6–8 years of experience in art direction, graphic design, or brand creative—ideally with experience in lifestyle, fashion, or home categories.
  • A conceptual thinker with the visual instinct to build rich, layered, and distinctive brand worlds that go beyond surface beauty.
  • Deep experience in both photography and graphic design, with the ability to translate mood and tone across mediums.
  • Skilled in directing shoots with clarity and vision, from pre-production to on-set execution, and final asset delivery.
  • A strong design background with fluency in composition, typography, and storytelling—particularly within digital ecosystems.
  • Confident leading and inspiring designers, with a collaborative spirit and an eye for both craft and strategy.
  • Detail-obsessed and highly organized, but flexible enough to thrive in a fast-moving, creative-first environment.
  • Experience in textile-driven categories (home, fashion, lifestyle) strongly preferred.

What You’ll Get:

  • Free bedding for a great night’s sleep, an awesome discount and $300 worth of free product a year!
  • Health, dental and vision benefits with 100% employee coverage offering
  • Flexible vacation packages
  • 401k
  • Competitive salary and stock options

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
