EverMerge, a leading mobile casual game, is looking for an Art Director. This role will report directly to the EverMerge Game Director. We have Pacific Time core hours, but welcome full-time remote candidates.

What you’ll do

  • Work closely with product, marketing, insights, design and engineering to deliver a steady stream of delight for new and existing EverMerge players.

  • Provide artistic vision and direction for EverMerge.

  • Evolve the style and look and feel of EverMerge to continue to keep it at the forefront of casual games.

  • Work with multiple 3rd party studio teams to help them execute against a direction that is both exciting for players and marketable.

  • Work with internal studios and external partners to communicate and maintain product vision

  • Create art processes (with a producer) for internal and external art production for early game development

  • Welcome early feedback, encourage team discussions, and foster an environment of safe and productive iteration

  • Be part of the EverMerge leadership team, proactively engaging to meet the goals of the business, delighting our players, and making EverMerge a great place to work.

  • Oversee marketing creative for EverMerge, directing eye catching images and videos that excite new and existing players

  • Manage a team of in-house creatives, providing mentorship and career path guidance

What We're Looking For

  • Self driven, able to navigate and lead through ambiguity.
  • Previous experience as an Art Director.
  • Ability to give effective critiques and take feedback and criticism.
  • Ability to draw rough sketches quickly and work iteratively to create visuals.
  • Portfolio of work which demonstrates a high-quality bar and compelling vision, and whose style is aligned with the casual mobile game art themes / styles.
  • Solid understanding of popular casual games and their art direction.
  • Broad knowledge and experience in several art disciplines including: concept, theme, environments, characters, lighting, and UI/UX.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively and value teamwork
  • Ability to present art themes / styles to different audiences including executives, articulate talking points and sell art styles and themes.
  • Experience managing internal and external teams, including 3rd party art production partners.
  • Open-minded, motivating, and inspiring personality
  • Nice to have: experience working in Unity

Our goal is to pay a market competitive salary focusing near the median of our pay ranges. However, final offers for all positions will be based on several factors such as experience level, education, skills, work location, and internal pay equity.
