In this role, you’ll shape and create visually compelling campaigns and assets that represent eBay’s diverse Seller community, working across a variety of channels—from social media to digital marketing and on-site experiences.

As a key thought leader on the team, you’ll guide creative direction, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and oversee the execution of both large-scale campaigns and day-to-day creative projects. If you're someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and has a keen eye for detail, this role is for you.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead Creative Direction for Seller Content: Own the visual direction for all Seller-focused creative across eBay. This includes digital, social, onsite, email, and experiential content.

  • Collaborate Across Teams: Partner closely with agency and in-house copywriters, designers, videographers, social strategists, and marketing managers to create high-impact, creative assets that meet business goals.

  • Manage Creative Projects from Concept to Execution: Lead projects through every stage, from initial concepting and brainstorming to final delivery, ensuring the work meets both creative and business objectives.

  • Present and Pitch Ideas: Lead presentations of creative work to stakeholders, effectively communicating design concepts and rationale.

  • Ensure Consistency and Quality: Maintain brand consistency across all channels and ensure design integrity across digital, print, and experiential platforms.

  • Influence and Inspire: Stay ahead of trends in design, motion graphics, and e-commerce to inspire and innovate within the creative team.

  • Occasional Travel: Attend Seller-focused events and video/photoshoots as needed.

What You Bring
  • 5+ years of professional experience as an Art Director in brand design, digital marketing, or creative agencies, with a focus on e-commerce or retail.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Communication Design, New Media, or a related field.

  • A standout portfolio that demonstrates strong concepting, art direction, and execution across multiple channels—including social media, digital, motion graphics, and print.

  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite; knowledge of After Effects, Cinema 4D, or Blender is a plus.

  • Experience leading social-first campaigns, working with e-commerce content and understanding platform-specific requirements.

  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide a creative team while collaborating across functions.

  • Excellent understanding of typography, composition, and visual storytelling.

  • Proficiency in Figma for collaborative design workflows.

  • Ability to balance creative vision with business goals, and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • A collaborative mindset with strong communication skills and the ability to provide and receive constructive feedback.

  • A good sense of humor and a love for creative problem solving.

Who You’ll Work With
  • An award-winning creative team consisting of senior designers, copywriters, art directors, motion designers, videographers, and creative directors.

  • Cross-functional teams across marketing, strategy, planning, and merchandising, working closely with them to deliver the best creative solutions for eBay’s Seller community.

  • A dynamic, passionate, and creative group that prioritizes collaboration and excellence.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
