About HomeVision:

HomeVision is building the next generation of AI-powered software for the $13 trillion mortgage industry. Our platform, MIRA, combines modern machine learning with human judgment to automate the heavy lifting of loan processing and underwriting: the manual, costly, and error-prone review of documents. By automating these tasks, we help lenders close loans faster and with less friction - ultimately saving borrowers time, money, and stress.

We have already transformed appraisal operations for the country's top lenders, cutting review times and labor costs by 75%, while improving accuracy and quality. Now, we are aggressively expanding MIRA to the entire loan file to create a truly holistic underwriting platform.

We are a well-funded, San Francisco–based startup with a distributed team of 40 backed by Initialized Capital, NVP Capital, and leading industry partners. We are looking for builders who want to move beyond the hype and ship applied AI products that solve hard problems. If you want to fundamentally change how an essential part of the global economy works, HomeVision is the place to do it.

Working at HomeVision:

At HomeVision, we like working with smart, curious and kind people who enjoy hard problems and real responsibility. Engineers here own meaningful projects end to end, from design to deployment, and collaborate closely with product, design and our go to market teams. We value low ego, high ownership, clear communication and respect for each other’s time. We learn in public, give direct but thoughtful feedback and try to “do the loving thing” in how we work together and with our customers.

Our products are built for real mortgage professionals - the people doing the work every day - and designed to make their jobs easier, faster, and more rewarding.

Role Overview:

We are seeking an Appraisal Policy Analyst who is passionate about customer success and quality assurance in appraisal. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of analytical skills, customer-facing experience, and a solid understanding of appraisal theory. You will have the autonomy to design and implement strategies that improve valuation quality while helping customers scale their businesses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Understand Customer Goals: Collaborate with customers to identify their quality objectives and risk profiles, and develop tailored plans to enhance valuation quality.

  • Analyze Feedback: Gather and analyze customer and client feedback to identify improvement opportunities and share insights with product teams.

  • Training and Support: Facilitate the onboarding of new customers through training sessions and ongoing feedback discussions to ensure a smooth implementation process.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Maintain effective communication with cross-functional partners throughout the product cycle, ensuring transparency regarding project rationale and progress.

  • Balance Objectives: Work alongside product and executive teams to align user goals, business requirements, and technical constraints within high-level strategies.

  • Design System Growth: Contribute to the evolution of our design system by considering brand, product, and voice in your recommendations.

  • Continuous Improvement: Actively engage in refining processes, reporting structures, and rule sets to drive improvements in appraisal quality.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
  • In-depth knowledge of appraisal theory and quality standards. Experience as an appraiser, working for a lender or AMC is a plus

  • 4+ years of experience in Customer Support, Customer Success, Product Management, or related fields, particularly in early-stage technology companies.

  • Strong analytical skills with a passion for leveraging data to inform decision-making.

  • Proven ability to transform user insights, business needs, and technical constraints into actionable product solutions.

  • Exceptional writing skills, particularly in crafting product copy and documentation.

What Drives You:
  • A curiosity for understanding the root causes of product challenges.

  • A commitment to inclusivity, accessibility, and ethical design practices.

  • A culture of humility, characterized by owning mistakes and sharing successes.

  • Excellent communication skills, with an emphasis on thorough documentation.

  • Enthusiasm for craftsmanship, particularly attention to typographic details.

  • A growth mindset, committed to regular self-reflection and personal development.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
