Description

TripleTen is an EdTech company that designs and runs tech career learning programs for the US and Latin American markets. We’ve been doing it for over five years, teaching complete beginners (people with no prior tech background) through cohort-based programs built on our own platform and curriculum, developed in partnership with Nebius AI. Our team is fully remote and globally distributed, and we serve a large, active student base across both regions.

We’re looking for an experienced Course Author in Applied AI to help design and develop a graduate-level online program in Applied Artificial Intelligence, delivered in partnership with a US university. The program is built for working professionals in fields such as marketing, operations, finance and HR. They learn to evaluate, build, integrate, deploy and govern AI solutions using modern no-code and low-code tools. You’ll turn approved course syllabi into engaging, rigorous learning materials and help shape how a new generation of AI practitioners learns to make sound, defensible decisions.

This is a part-time, project-based opportunity for subject matter experts who are passionate about teaching, curriculum design and helping learners succeed.

Please submit all resumes or CVs in English.

After applying for this position, you will be required to complete a test assignment after your Online Introductory Call.

Project details are shared after signing an NDA.

What you will do
  • Develop graduate-level course content in Applied AI based on approved syllabi: guided lessons, hands-on labs, case studies, weekly assignments and final projects, mostly in text and video format.
  • Write clear assignment briefs and analytic rubrics for all graded work, including explicit rules on when and how students may use AI tools.
  • Design practical labs on current AI platforms (LLM assistants, RAG applications, workflow automation, AI agents, APIs and monitoring tools), and make sure every graded task can be completed with free or open-source tools.
  • Curate reading lists of research papers, standards and vendor documentation, and explain why each source matters.
  • Create supporting materials: preparatory (non-credit) modules for learners without a technical background, a program glossary, templates and worked examples.
  • Collaborate with the LX designer and the student experience team on learning objectives, course structure and assessment design (if you don’t have experience with this, that’s ok).
  • Consult on Applied AI-related questions, and keep content up to date as tools and regulations change.
  • Revise content based on academic review by the partner university’s faculty, and make sure it meets graduate-level academic standards.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of recent professional experience in applied AI/ML, data, AI automation, or a related field, including hands-on experience with LLMs.
  • A master’s degree or PhD in a relevant field, or 10+ years of senior professional experience in AI or a related industry.
  • Practical knowledge of AI tools and workflows, including prompt engineering, RAG, AI agents, automation, APIs, and LLM evaluation.
  • Experience applying AI to real business problems, considering business value, cost, risk, and reliability.
  • Experience teaching, mentoring, or creating educational content, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong English communication skills (C1+), including clear professional and educational writing.
  • Strong organizational and collaboration skills, with the ability to work proactively, incorporate feedback, and meet agreed deadlines.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience designing courses or learning materials for higher education or online programs.
  • Familiarity with AI strategy, business cases, or responsible AI practices or governance.
  • Experience with EdTech or learning platforms, or contributions to the AI community through publications, talks, or open-source projects.
What we can offer you
  • Fully remote, part-time collaboration (at least 25h/week).
  • Compensation: fixed fee per course package, paid in milestones.
  • A diverse team across Europe, the US, Latin America and more.
  • Modern digital tools for seamless collaboration.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
