The Applications Product Manager will help lead the Applications team in identifying key outcomes our channel partners and their customers want to achieve, and the opportunities for Yobi to support those outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain deep knowledge and expertise about our market space to continuously generate ideas for problems we might solve and ways we might solve them.

  • Drive alignment around these ideas and collaborate with functions across Yobi to draft and implement product requirements with the Applications engineering team

  • Drive alignment with the commercial team on key outcomes we want to achieve and the metrics we will use to measure our progress against those outcomes.

  • Own the implementation, tracking, and reporting of those metrics.

  • Own the product roadmap and backlog for the Applications team.

  • Conduct or specify relevant user experience, internal, or policy research that supports strategic decision making for your product line.

  • Collaborate with the senior leadership team on overall company product strategy.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years product management or similar experience

  • Bachelor's degree (STEM preferred)

  • Demonstrated experience presenting to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to drive towards clarity

  • Experience gathering requirements across diverse areas and users, and converting and developing them into product solutions, especially with 0-1 product delivery

  • Comfort with working in ambiguity

  • Experience interpreting complex, large-scale information sets in graphical or tabular form and making data-driven decisions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Background in ad tech, marketing tech, data brokerages, or SaaS applications

  • Experience working with Machine Learning teams on recommendation systems or optimization problems.

  • Experience with growth and maturity phases of the product life cycle

  • Experience with managing large bureaucratic partner organizations

  • Working knowledge of privacy law and regulations

We prioritize attitude, culture, and general (technical) fit over matching perfectly into one of our job descriptions. If our mission and work resonates with you, we encourage you to apply. Tell us how you can help drive our products forward, even if you don’t feel like you are a perfect fit for some of the listings.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
