Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a/an Application Engineer located in US Virginia (Remote).

Reporting to the Sales Operations Manager, the Application Engineer role involves working with multiple internal departments as well as customers and suppliers. Your day will fly by as you work on orders (sales support) to develop working solutions within the framework provided by the outside sales team. Your goal is to find solutions that exceed customer expectations while improving efficiency, reducing materials cost and keeping the whole team informed. Your impact on the customer, and, in the end, our continued growth and profitability is huge!

What a typical day looks like:

  • Manage proposal, submittal, and documentation of company’s product lines through communications/meetings between Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, and Manufacturing.

  • Review technical specifications and electrical one‐line diagrams to accurately propose best solution of different products.

  • Review electrical and mechanical engineering drawings and internal specifications to process quotes and submittals

  • Perform cost analysis on quotes and completed orders.

  • Review contracts and purchase orders to verify they are compliant with company standards.

  • Coordinate with field sales team to develop pricing for projects as requested and directed.

  • Prepare quotation documents for presentation for projects.

  • Record and communicate progress on sales opportunities, maintains sales databases, and prepares reports and presentations as needed.

  • Communicate clearly and confidently with customers.

  • Adhere to all relevant health and safety policies and practices

  • Additional duties as required.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • 4+ years of experience working on projects or solving technical problems

  • A minimum Bachelors degree in engineering, business, marketing or related field and/or the equivalent of 5 years of practical work experience in a comparable role, preferably in the power distribution industry.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively overcome objections and communicate with people at all levels.

  • Ability to review technical specifications and electrical one‐line diagrams.

  • Ability to review electrical and mechanical drawings.

  • Good computer skills, to include Microsoft Office Suite, etc.

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills, attention‐to‐detail, and the appropriate sense of urgency

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical knowledge of power systems/power distribution and related is a big plus

  • Practical experience with Customer Resource Management (CRM) systems such as SalesForce

Pay Range (Applicable to US Remote). Due to this role being remote, the actual pay range will vary depending on the geographical location of the candidate$67,700.00 USD - $93,100.00 USD Annual
