Applications Developer

Broadcom ECD is a Leader in Fibre Channel/NVMe Storage Area Network. We are seeking an experienced Applications Developer to join our team, where you will have the opportunity to leverage your skills in a collaborative environment. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, debugging, and testing Application Software for our cutting-edge networking and Storage Area Network products. Broadcom ECD, the leader in storage networking solutions, provides enterprise-class storage connectivity for servers, networks and storage Arrays within the data center. Our product portfolio of Fibre Channel host bus adapters, controllers, embedded bridges and switches, and connectivity management software are proven, tested and trusted by the world’s largest and most demanding IT environments. You will join our Applications team and develop and test Application Software for Broadcom ECD's state-of-the art  FC/NVME HBA products. Specifically, you will be charged with Applications design, implementation, testing. As a valued team member, your exceptional skills and expertise will be leveraged to drive success in this role. You will collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams spanning multiple sites to design, develop, and support diverse applications, showcasing your capabilities at their finest. Your knowledge in executing test cases, creating test scripts, and supporting development initiatives for embedded systems will also be essential to your success.

Required Skills:

Programming and Scripting Languages:

  • Proficiency in one or more languages such as C, C++, Python, Java, JavaScript, and shell scripting

Web Development:

  • Frontend:

  • Familiarity with JavaScript, HTML, CSS

  • Familiarity with frontend frameworks (preferably REACT)

  • Familiarity with backend frameworks

  • - Understanding of RESTful APIs

  • - Familiarity with relational databases

Troubleshooting & Debugging

  • Experience troubleshooting applications running in multiple environments (e.g Linux, Windows)

  • Experience in debugging code using IDEs such as Microsoft Visual Studio

Testing & Automation

  • Experience with unit, integration, and system testing

  • Able to write custom scripts to automate repetitive tasks/procedures

DevOps Tools

  • Experience with Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, Jenkins, SVN

Basic Linux OS administration

  • Ubuntu, Alpine Linux, RHEL

Desired Skills in Cybersecurity

  • Understanding of web vulnerabilities

  • Experience with zero-trust architectures

  • Experience with pen testing

  • Experience with Identity and Access Management services (e.g Okta, Azure AD)

  • Experience with security/vulnerability scanning tools (e.g Black Duck)

- Excellent communication and documentation skills will enable you to articulate your test results to the team and our OEM clients. The ability to follow software development processes for designing, documenting, coding and bug tracking.

- Overall, we are looking for a mindset, not just a skill set, and your pro-active approach to problem solving, attention to detail, focus on quality and team-player attitude will be essential in establishing yourself as a valued team member.

BS degree in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering and 0-2 years related experience

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is $60,200 - $96,300

This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
