Fox TV Stations

FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a dynamic and versatile News Anchor/Reporter to join the Fox11 evening team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about news and storytelling, with a deep understanding of Los Angeles communities and their viewing habits. This role requires a creative approach to news delivery, utilizing non-traditional formats to engage and inform our audience.

Key Responsibilities:

News Anchoring:

  • Present news stories and segments in a clear, engaging, and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with producers to ensure accurate and timely delivery of news content.
  • Adapt to breaking news situations and provide live coverage as needed.

Reporting:

  • Conduct in-depth research and interviews to gather information on a wide range of topics.
  • Develop and produce original news stories that resonate with local communities.
  • Utilize multimedia platforms to enhance storytelling and reach a broader audience.

Community Engagement:

  • Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, organizations, and viewers.
  • Stay informed about local issues, events, and trends that impact Los Angeles communities.
  • Attend community events and represent the station in a professional manner.

Content Creation:

  • Experiment with non-traditional storytelling formats, such as podcasts, social media, and interactive content.
  • Collaborate with digital teams to create engaging online content that complements on-air broadcasts.
  • Continuously seek innovative ways to present news stories and engage viewers.

Minimum 2-5 years on-camera experience as reporter in major market preferred.  Excellent on-camera reporting with strong interview and writing skills.  Excellent ability to report in unscripted breaking news situations.  Knowledge of newsroom computer systems, particularly iNews preferred. Ability to filter and disseminate crowd-sourced information while maintaining station standards for fact-checking and accuracy.  Excellent people and communication skills. Ability to work well with others, particularly during high-pressure situations.  Ability and willingness to work weekends, holidays, overnight and extended hours during unscheduled and breaking news situations. College degree preferred

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $91.35-96.65 per hour for high cost labour markets such as but not limited to New York City and Los Angeles, $76.00-80.50 per hour for all other US locations. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
