What You’ll Do 

The main function of this role will be to support actuarial functions, with particular focus on cost of care analytics, forecasting, and value-based contracts. The Actuarial Analyst will execute work assignments using actuarial and statistical methods. This position will report to our Senior Director, Actuarial. 

The Day to Day 

  • Creates and maintains detailed forecasting models, projecting multi-year financial performance at the client level 
  • Analyzes publicly available data to understand industry revenue, medical expense and risk score trends 
  • Supports ongoing client relationships through impact analyses, validation of financial reports, and presentations to clients 
  • Supports new business underwriting through ingestion and interpretation of client data and financial forecasting 
  • Forecasts and interprets financial results, including variances from forecast to help identify product and segment behavior to assist in risk management of the business units. 
  • Collaborates with team members from strategy, clinical, and new market functions to identify data-driven opportunities to add value to existing and potential partners. 
  • Presents models during workgroup calls and explains analyses to diverse audiences. 

 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, or related field. 
  • 1+ years experience in actuarial services or related field. 
  • Candidates must be on the Actuarial exam track, having passed a minimum of two actuarial exams. 
  • Internet Connectivity - Min Speeds: 3.8Mbps/3.0Mbps (up/down): Latency <60 ms. 
  • Ability to travel and be onsite to meet business needs.

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Working knowledge of analyzing medical claim, lab data, electronic medical record (EMR) data and clinical data.  
  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SQL.   

 

Annual Salary Range: $66,000 - $77,000
