Be a part of this exciting journey with us!

The Role

OpusClip is building the future of AI video — and we need someone who can make it look like it. We are seeking a hands-on AI Video Editor who lives at the intersection of creative instinct and technical craft. This is not a role for someone who waits for perfect footage. This is a role for an editor who can take raw, broken, or AI-generated clips and turn them into something undeniably polished — fast.

The Mandate

  • Edit at the Speed of AI: Transform AI-generated clips into high-quality demo, marketing, and ad videos. When the footage is rough or broken, you don't wait — you rebuild it.

  • Bridge the Gap: Combine AI outputs with motion graphics, compositing, and traditional editing techniques to produce results that AI alone can't deliver yet.

  • Prototype and Iterate Rapidly: Move fast on demos for product and marketing. You're comfortable shipping, getting feedback, and iterating — all in the same day.

  • Shape the Workflow: Help define and refine how AI-assisted video production works at OpusClip. Your hands-on experience informs how we build the product itself.

  • Train the Machine: Produce manual video edits that serve as references for training OpusClip's agentic product. Your craft directly shapes how our AI learns.

The Profile

  • The Hands-On Editor: You have 3–6 years of experience in video editing and motion design. You're fast, precise, and never precious about starting over.

  • The Technician: You know Premiere Pro, After Effects, and similar tools deeply. You can take rough footage and make it sing.

  • The AI-Native Creator: You've worked with AI video tools and understand both their power and their limits — and you know exactly how to fill the gaps.

  • The Storyteller: You have a strong sense of pacing, visual polish, and narrative. You don't just cut clips — you shape experiences.

  • The Startup Operator: You're comfortable in fast-moving environments, thrive with ambiguity, and treat iteration as a feature, not a bug.

The Details

  • Location: On-site in Mountain View, 4 days/week

  • Engagement: Contract role- opportunity to convert

You Should NOT Apply If

  • You need clean, camera-ready footage to do your best work

  • You're not comfortable working with AI-generated content and its limitations

  • You prefer a slow, defined creative process over rapid iteration

  • You haven't used AI video tools in your workflow

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
