About the Role

Abnormal AI is built on the belief that AI isn’t a tool you adopt—it’s the way you work. As our first AI Enablement Specialist, you’ll help bring that belief to life across the company.

In this role, you’ll be more than a trainer. You’ll be a trusted builder, educator, and internal catalyst—helping teams adopt AI-native habits and design smarter, faster workflows using tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Glean, and more. You’ll create practical programs that accelerate adoption, demystify AI, and give every employee a clearer path to using these tools in meaningful ways.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role at the center of our internal AI transformation. If you're deeply curious, operationally sharp, and energized by enabling others, you’ll thrive here.

What you'll do
  • Design and run hands-on training, workshops, and role-specific enablement that make AI practical and usable—starting with tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and Glean
  • Create clear, engaging documentation and playbooks that help teams integrate AI into daily workflows
  • Build and scale a content engine in partnership with our AI Platform team—tracking new capabilities and turning them into usable resources fast
  • Model best practices and new use cases. Help others see what’s possible by showing what works
  • Measure what matters. Track adoption, effectiveness, and outcomes to improve how we enable and scale AI fluency
  • Partner with Content Marketing to highlight internal success stories and share how AI is changing how we work
  • Continuously explore new tools and techniques—and share your findings to keep us learning and moving forward
What you'll bring
  • Real examples of how you've used AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, or Glean to change how you work
  • Clear, confident communication skills—you can turn complexity into clarity across docs, decks, and live sessions
  • Experience in enablement, L&D, internal comms, or similar roles focused on scaling knowledge and behavior change
  • Strong facilitation skills—you’ve led workshops, coached peers, or taught new tools to cross-functional audiences
  • A builder’s mindset—you’re energized by solving operational problems and designing repeatable systems
  • Data fluency—you track what works, iterate fast, and care about measurable impact
Bonus to Have
  • Experience with additional enterprise AI tools (e.g., Gemini, Cursor)
  • Understanding of prompt engineering, custom GPTs, or agent-based AI
  • Familiarity with platforms like Confluence or Notion for knowledge sharing
  • Experience producing multimedia or video-based training content

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
