Summary

The laboratory focuses on research, technology innovation, proof-of-concept activities, technical marketing and business development for novel energy solutions, leveraging Hitachi’s technologies, reinforcing Hitachi’s messaging around IoT technologies, and establishing Hitachi as a leader in big data.

Requirements

We’re looking for a team player, who is motivated by delivering great work and the Hitachi vision. The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and background:

• AI Research Scientist in the areas of power distribution and transmission systems.
• Conduct research in AI/ML with applications in power system planning, operation, and optimization.
• Design and implement AI algorithms for planning, real-time monitoring, control, and operation of distribution and distribution networks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams internally and externally to prototype, test, and deploy AI-powered tools in real-world utility environments.
• Publish research findings in peer-reviewed paper/journal

Qualifications

We’re looking for a team player, who is motivated by delivering great work and the Hitachi vision. The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and background:

• Ph.D. in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or any other related degree with 1-3 years of experiences in AI/ML.
• Proficiency in Python is a must.
• Experience with Graphic Processing Unity (GPU) preferred.
• Proficiency in AI/ML, supervised learning, unsupervised learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning, data analytics techniques, and optimization techniques.
• Proficiency in AI/ML algorithm development.
• Knowledge of distribution and transmission system analysis is preferred.

For California only (as required by California’s Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act (SB 1162): The expected salary for this position in our California office is $113,800 - $142,250. Pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi America’s variable pay program, subject to the program’s conditions and restrictions.
