We are looking for a motivated AI Research Intern to join our engineering team and support technical research initiatives across our fund and portfolio companies. In this role, you will work alongside experienced developers, product designers, and incubation leads on various projects.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with industry-standard tools and methodologies while supporting the technical needs of both our fund operations and portfolio companies.
Responsibilities:
- The internship will focus on creating a demonstrator for AI on the edge in a real-world setting
- The work will involve edge computing, action recognition, and leveraging insights from the latest multimodal AI techniques.
- Design and development of novel methods/implementation of LLMs that can run on edge devices such as (but not limited to) Raspberry Pis, handheld mobile devices, and more!
- Evaluate system performance across different real-world conditions and scenarios.
- Technical discussions with the engineering team towards the implementation and improvement of ideas.
- Show a proof-of-concept demo at the conclusion of the internship.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Masters/PhD program in Computer Science, Mathematics, Operations Research, Linguistics or a related field.
- 3+ years of programming experience in Python, with proficiency in frameworks like PyTorch or Tensorflow
- Interest in technology development, LLM frameworks and technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers and designers.
- Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
- Self-motivated and responsible, with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility. Is a self-starter and can take initiative and be proactive in tackling problems.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills while not being afraid to dive deep into a subject to find a solution.
- Ability to work in a team and communicate technical concepts effectively, both written and verbal, to a wide variety of stakeholders
Compensation:
$30-$50/hour, non-exempt from overtime pay (up to a 40-hour week)
Duration:
Able to work at least 40hr/week during the summer and 20hr/week if during the semester.
