As AI Lead, you'll design AI tools, build demo agents, integrate AI into operations, and establish partnerships to enhance team workflows and experimentation.
The summary above was generated by AI

At Recall Labs, we are advancing agent intelligence with the ultimate proving grounds for agents: a competition platform where agents show their performance, improve, and earn. We’re transforming AIs from black boxes to observable systems that can be discovered, evaluated and trusted - doing for the agentic web what PageRank did for the world wide web.

You’d join a lean, passionate team on the cutting edge of AI and decentralized technology. We look for high agency, integrity, and excellent communication to move the needle on our huge ambition on a remote-first team.

The Opportunity

As AI Lead, you will be at the heart of Recall’s drive to empower AI agent builders and ecosystems with more intelligence and data. You will experiment rapidly with AI agents and frameworks, build agent tooling and demos, participate in agent and AI ecosystems, and integrate the best AI technology into our internal team and systems to make us more AI native. You will report to the Head of Research who runs our Innovation Engineering pod, with potential to grow quickly as our ambition in this area scales.

What You'll Achieve:

Success in this role means delivering transformative AI capabilities that empower agent builders and improve internal workflows. Within your first year, you will:

  • Launch highly used AI agent tooling – Develop foundational agent-building tools based on Recall that thousands of builders in the largest AI*Crypto frameworks (Eliza, RIG, Virtuals, etc.) build more intelligent and performant agents.
  • Build demo agents – That showcase the power and ease of Recall for agents, and contribute to the Recall ecosystem.
  • Create key partners - Establish partnerships with leading AI builders and researchers and innovate alongside them to push the bounds of what’s possible.
  • Make our team more AI native – Identify and integrate AI-driven efficiencies into our organization, improving how teams experiment, build, and operate. For example you would create and own a chatgpt API that we use consistently and has our team’s memory, an agent that we use to manage support, etc .
  • Experiment Rapidly – Lead fast-cycle experiments to test AI-powered enhancements, driving a culture of iteration and learning.

Skills You'll Need:

This role bridges our fast-developing intelligence network with fast-changing AI technology, calling for an inventive, hands-on builder who thrives in fast-paced environments, loves solving complex problems, and can distill rapid change into simple comms.

You’re likely a great fit if you have:

  •

If you’re passionate about AI, love building tools that empower others, and thrive in a fast-moving, experimental environment, we’d love to hear from you! 🚀

Bonus Points:

  • Familiarity with any part of our tech stack: onchain/web3, SQL, big data, NFTs/tokens, etc.
  • Leadership in driving team objectives, balancing business needs with team dynamics, and personal development.
  • A broader appreciation for the pioneers of computing and a personal investment in areas beyond technology.

At Recall labs, we believe in the power of diversity to foster innovation and creativity. We encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply, especially those who share our vision of democratizing software customization. If you're passionate about this role but don't meet every single requirement, we still want to hear from you. We offer competitive compensation, equity, and benefits tailored to provide a comprehensive and fulfilling work-life balance.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
