Manufacturing is undergoing its fourth industrial revolution, with factory operations increasingly driven by real-time applications that combine process and context data with advanced ML and AI algorithms. This is unlocking a staggering opportunity to improve the efficiency and productivity of existing manufacturing processes.
As a Manufacturing AI company, Oden is at the forefront of this revolution. We combine large-scale data processing architectures and advanced AI and ML algorithms within the Oden platform so manufacturing operations teams can continuously monitor, analyze, and optimize their production, across a diverse set of processes and conditions. Our goal is to maximize efficiency, sustainability, and competitiveness in the manufacturing domain - to help True Makers Make Things Better!
CultureWe obsess over customers. Everything we do is to create profound results and delight for our customers. Every Viking cares about the purpose of the product and company, and prioritizes work based on customer end results. When in doubt, we go to the Gemba – we’re happy to put on steel toe boots and hit the factory floor to work with the production manager.
We move fast and follow through – we live by transparent and scientific thinking, act with urgency, and put in the work to find the best ideas with those around us.
We elevate each other by giving and receiving direct, honest feedback and holding ourselves and others to a high standard to help the team rise, deliver, and win together.
“Be True Makers to Serve True Makers.” We’re building a community that fuels innovation and accelerates our pace and impact. We always ask if there’s a better way to do something, even if it's unconventional – then we try it. We aim for bold yet simple solutions that cut through complexity and drive meaningful progress.
The Role:
As an AI Engineer you will design, develop, and deploy AI systems and ML models that solve complex problems across our product suite. You'll work at the intersection of research and production, translating state-of-the-art techniques into scalable, robust applications that serve our users. A key focus of this position will be developing agentic AI systems that can autonomously complete tasks, make decisions, and interact with tools and APIs to achieve defined goals.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to identify opportunities for AI integration and deliver end-to-end solutions. Your responsibilities will include training and fine-tuning models, optimizing performance for production environments, and maintaining deployed systems. You'll also be responsible for prompt engineering and optimization, crafting effective prompts that elicit desired behaviors from large language models and designing agentic workflows that leverage tool use and reasoning capabilities. You'll contribute to our technical direction by evaluating emerging AI technologies and recommending approaches that align with our strategic goals.
The ideal candidate has strong programming skills in Python and experience with machine learning fundamentals, neural network architectures, and experience deploying models in production settings. Knowledge of prompt engineering techniques, including few-shot learning, chain-of-thought reasoning, and instruction tuning, is essential. Experience with agentic AI systems, working with LLM APIs, and understanding the nuances of model behavior through iterative prompt refinement will set you apart. We value candidates who combine technical depth with practical problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a passion for staying current with the rapidly evolving AI landscape.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and deploy AI systems that address complex challenges in manufacturing applications and deliver measurable value to users.
Build and optimize agentic AI systems that can autonomously execute tasks, interact with external tools and APIs, and make intelligent decisions.
Craft and refine prompts for large language models, employing techniques such as few-shot learning, chain-of-thought reasoning, and instruction tuning to optimize model performance and reliability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to identify AI opportunities, define requirements, and deliver integrated solutions.
Monitor and maintain deployed AI systems, troubleshooting issues, optimizing performance, and ensuring scalability and reliability in production environments.
Stay current with emerging AI research and technologies, evaluating new approaches and tools that could enhance our capabilities and recommending strategic directions for adoption.
Document technical implementations, create knowledge-sharing resources, and mentor team members on AI engineering best practices and prompt optimization techniques.
Validating results in real-world deployments with our customers
Engaging with the technical community to present results externally, keep up to date on recent advances, and advance the state of the art
Preferred Experience:
3-5 years professional experience as an AI/ML Engineer and advanced degrees (M.S. or PhD. in AI, Machine Learning, CS Theory and Algorithms, Computer Science with ML/AI Planning focus, Economics, Operations Research, or related fields)
Experience with Agentic AI is a strong plus
Proficient with Python, including most common AI frameworks and protocols including ADK, MCP, Langchain and exposure to ML and Optimization libraries
Experience with SQL and GCP is a plus.
Enthusiasm to own projects end-to-end; from experimentation to customer delivery
What We Offer You:
Measurable impact to the world and the chance to help real people - family businesses, entrepreneurs, engineers.
Exposure to many tech disciplines, most of which are rapidly evolving.
A bridge between the physical and cloud worlds of tech. Our platform unites big data visualizations with sensors, M2M tech, and heavy industrial equipment.
A platform that has the potential to evolve beyond what we have envisioned now.
Scientific and transparent thinking, for everyone involved.
We have backing by world leaders of both industry and tech that will ensure long term growth and development for us.
