AI Data Labeling Intern

POSITION OVERVIEW:

HiveWatch is seeking a detail-oriented AI Data Labeling Intern to join our team and play a critical role in improving our AI products. This position involves reviewing input data, evaluating AI-generated analyses, and validating the accuracy of automated assessments. The successful candidate will spend their time ensuring the quality and precision of our AI models through meticulous data labeling and validation processes.

• Location: In-office (El Segundo) 
• Duration: 6 months with potential to extend

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Data Analysis & Validation: Review and label various data inputs to HiveWatch AI products and assess corresponding AI-generated analyses for accuracy and completeness
• Quality Assurance: Validate AI predictions against ground truth labels, identifying false positives, false negatives, and edge cases
• Dataset Management: Structure and organize large and advanced labeled datasets using both advanced Excel/Google Sheets functionality and AWS or in-product tooling
• Reporting: Prepare and present daily summary reports on data labeling progress, quality metrics, and key findings
• Documentation: Maintain detailed records of labeling decisions, methodology, and any observed patterns or issues
• Collaboration: Work closely with AI/ML teams to provide feedback on model performance and suggest improvements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant degree program (Computer Science, Data Science, Criminal Justice, or related field)
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, including:
  
  • Advanced formulas and functions
  • Data visualization and charting
  • Pivot tables and data analysis tools
  • Conditional formatting and data validation
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain focus during repetitive tasks
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Strict adherence to information security policies

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Basic SQL experience for database queries and data extraction
• Previous experience with data annotation, labeling, or quality assurance roles
• Familiarity with security systems, surveillance technology, or video analysis
• Understanding of machine learning concepts and AI model evaluation
• Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
• Background in statistics or data analysis
• Interest in computer vision and AI applications

ADDITIONAL INFO:

• Hourly range for this position: $18 - $30 an hour. 

*Final offer will be at the company's sole discretion and determined by multiple factors, including years and depth of relevant experience and expertise, location, and other business considerations.
