AI Business Automation Specialist (Business Transformation | AI Workflows | Systems Implementation)

We are looking for someone who builds it, ships it, fixes it, and moves on to the next one.

If that sounds like you — keep reading.

About the Role

This is a high-ownership, startup-paced role sitting at the intersection of AI, automation, business operations, and systems implementation. You will work across a portfolio of B2B SaaS companies — touching Sales, Marketing, Support, HR, Finance, and Operations — identifying what is broken, building what is missing, and making sure things actually work.

You are part business analyst, part automation engineer, part AI workflow designer, and part implementation consultant. You are measured by what ships — not what is scoped.

What You Will Do

  • Process Transformation — Map broken processes, identify inefficiencies, and redesign how teams operate. Convert vague business problems into structured workflows, dashboards, and system changes.
  • AI & Automation Implementation — Build real AI-powered workflows for lead research, reporting, CRM updates, support automation, document processing, and internal assistants. Using tools like Claude, ChatGPT, n8n, Make, Zapier, Power Automate, UiPath, and APIs.
  • Systems Rollouts — Implement and improve CRM, Helpdesk, ERP, HRMS, and reporting platforms. Gather requirements, configure systems, support UAT, clean data, and drive real user adoption.
  • Data, Reporting & Dashboards — Analyze business data, build Advanced Excel dashboards, create KPI reports, and give leadership clean, actionable data to make faster decisions.
  • Portfolio Enablement — Work across multiple acquired SaaS companies to standardize processes, automate workflows, and build scalable operating models. New business, new problem, every week.

Requirements

What We Are Looking For

  • 3+ years in Business Analysis, Automation, Digital Transformation, Operations, or Systems Implementation
  • Hands-on experience with automation platforms Make, Zapier, n8n, Power Automate, UiPath, or similar
  • Active experience with AI tools Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or other LLM platforms
  • Ability to design AND build AI-enabled workflows end to end
  • Advanced Excel formulas, Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, dashboards, data validation
  • Experience with CRM, Helpdesk, ERP, HRMS, or project management tools
  • Good understanding of APIs, integrations, and data flows
  • Strong documentation skills SOPs, process maps, implementation plans

Bonus Points For

  • Experience building AI agents or multi-step agentic workflows
  • Working knowledge of Python or JavaScript
  • Hands-on with Zoho, Salesforce, Freshdesk, Zendesk, Jira, QuickBooks, or HubSpot.
  • Background in consulting, SaaS ops, RevOps, Sales Ops, or Support Ops
  • Experience across multiple business units or post-acquisition environments

You Will Thrive Here If...

  • You see a messy business problem and want to fix it — not just describe it
  • You have automations running in production right now
  • You pick up new tools fast without waiting for full documentation
  • You are comfortable with ambiguity and know how to ask the right questions
  • You follow through — builds do not sit half-finished on your list
  • You treat Sales, Support, Finance, and HR as equally interesting territory

Why Join Us

  • Real AI projects that go live in real businesses — not sandbox demos
  • Exposure to multiple B2B SaaS companies across industries
  • High ownership end-to-end — from scoping to build to adoption
  • Fast growth trajectory — become a key transformation driver across the portfolio
  • Stay on the frontier — latest AI models, automation tools, and real business context

Benefits
  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
  • Opportunities for career advancement and professional development.
  • Experience collaborating with a diverse, global team within a remote work setting.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
