Job Description

Our client is looking for a Sr. Project Manager with expertise in Agile Release Management

The PM position is responsible for assisting in coordinating and delivering high quality releases for front end and back end software for customer-facing solutions. He/she will be responsible for facilitating superior communications, coordination, and correspondence between staff and executive level stakeholders across the Engineering, Test, Product, and Operations organizations and driving a recently implemented Agile release management methodology (i.e., CI/CD or also referred to as DevOps).

The PM will be operating in a Release Manager role and leverage his/her expertise in technology testing and quality assurance disciplines as well as integration and release management functions to successfully deliver high quality integrated software applications. The PM will be engaging and assisting a very large team and be responsible for assisting in developing, maintaining, improving, and enforcing release management standards as a common core across all solutions. 

This PM will work with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of software in Technology Services and to develop and implement processes associated with functional areas. The PM will enforce and carefully adjust Release Management practices and processes to comply with his/her review of system updates from end-to-end testing, user acceptance testing, production staging, and final production release.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

1. Work closely with cross functional teams

2. Work with Engineering, Test, Operations, and Product teams for releases

3. Support standard releases, DevOps, Release Management documentation, and new program launch release

4. Work with program managers for new releases

5. Perform constant monitoring with attention to new programs

6. Track progress in JIRA ticketing systems and project schedules in MS Project Server

7. Provide executive level presentations on team status and progress

8. Assist in following up with groups that have outstanding open issues or actions

9. Manage release change requests

SKILLS, ABILITY AND KNOWLEDGE:

1. Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies

2. Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps

3. Change Management experience

4. Ability to prioritize and organize effectively

5. Ability to communicate orally and write in a clear, accurate and straightforward manner

6. Ability to effectively analyze and interpret data

7. Ability to document, prepare, and deliver data-driven presentations

8. Ability to be organized with meticulous attention to detail  

9. Ability to show judgment and initiative to accomplish job duties

10. Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure and tight timelines

11. Ability to provide leadership and direction to cross-functional and virtual teams with a mixture of direct and dotted-line reporting

12. Ability to develop strong working relationships with peers and project members

Additional Information

Rate $60/hr
