Compensation: Starting at $21 hourly
Location: Monterey Park, CA
Starting Date: Seasonal Position (This position is seasonal and follows the school district calendar for the 2026-2027 school year.)
Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday between 2:00 - 6:00 PM PST & Wednesday between 12:40 PM - 6:00 PM PST
Exact start and end times may vary slightly depending on site needs; flexibility to start earlier or later is required.

Job Description:

Apollo is partnering with Monterey Park and Alhambra to support their after-school program by providing engaging, hands-on learning experiences that build on the school day. Help create a high-quality environment, support activities, and foster students’ academic and social growth. If you’re passionate about making a difference, we’d love for you to apply!

As an Apollo Teacher, your responsibilities will be:
  •  Provide a high-quality learning environment and manage activities that extend the school day;
  • Assist in the implementation of classroom curriculum and weekly lesson plans when needed; 
  • Ensure the safety and security of children enrolled; 
  •  Follow designated schedule and curriculum, maintain a routine for students; 
  •  Effectively attract and retain students through enthusiasm, teaching skills, and patience;
  •  Assist with homework completion.
    The requirements for our teachers are:
    •  Ability to command respect and cooperation in an elementary classroom. 
    • Confidence to run a classroom alone.
    • Applicants must be 18+ and have a high school diploma or equivalent. 
    •  A team player who can collaborate with peers. 
    •  Ability to assess and solve problems associated with elementary-aged children. 
    • Ability to create and maintain a fun, caring, and responsive educational environment. 
    • Minimum of one year working with school-age youth, ages 4-10 in a school/after-school setting.
      Premium hourly rates are available for educators with ASL skills in programs where there are children who use or benefit from ASL.
