Role Description

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Professional, who will join the CompuGroup Medical (CGM) South Africa’s Research and Development team, and who will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions to our customers. Your experience in designing and executing robust manual and automated test strategies, combined with your ability to engage stakeholders effectively  and drive initiatives that enhance quality outcomes, will be vital in delivering outstanding products to our clients..

Roles and Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Drive the implementation of Quality Assurance strategies, solutions, tools, measures, and processes.
  • Attend daily Agile Scrum meetings to provide status updates on Quality Assurance activities.
  • Identify Quality Assurance requirements and strategies by reviewing business requirements and specifications and liaising with relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare test cases to meet Quality Assurance needs.
  • Provide effort estimations for required Quality Assurance activities.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive manual and automated test strategies to enhance test execution, manual test coverage, and the consistency of regression testing.
  • Create, extend, and maintain the automation framework by developing new tests and maintaining existing ones.
  • Log test defects and technical issues for the development teams to address.
  • Assist with troubleshooting issues.
  • Participate in the release process by executing post-release testing activities and confirming the overall Quality Assurance status.
  • Coordinate test procedures with other teams and stakeholders.
  • Continuously review test results to assess the quality of applications and test strategies and identify opportunities to improve CGMSA's Quality Assurance posture.
  • Commitment to continuously improve QA processes and staying updated with industry best practices and trends.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Testing Certification (ISTQB Foundation Level or Certificate in Software Testing).
  • 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance testing.
  • Proficiency in:
  • Modern Quality Assurance methodologies, technologies, and automation techniques.
  • Test script design and development.
  • System, integration, functional, and regression testing.
  • Defect management tools (e.g., Jira, Zephyr).
  • Testing web services, client-side, and web-based applications.
  • Proven leadership skills with a strong ability to drive strategic outcomes.
  • Experience in mentoring junior QA team members.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in testing and documentation.
  • The ability to analyse complex software systems and identify areas for improvement.
  • Demonstrated capability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
  • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including development, product management, and operations.
