This is a temporary position, and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. Note: Permanent and time-limited NC State Government employees must separate from their permanent or time-limited position to work in a temporary position. All temporary employees are limited to one NC State Government temporary assignment at a time.

This temporary position is located at 3301 Terminal Drive, Raleigh, NC 27604- Wake County, with the Department of Health and Human Services.
Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $19.50 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).
Effective July 1, 2025, candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed in the class specification. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities listed within this vacancy announcement will be used only as management preferences and will be used to screen for the most qualified pool of applicants.
Management Preferences:
Answer a high volume of calls.
Work independently to manage calls from claimants, schools, SSA Field offices, and others in the medical and legal communities.
Responsible for communicating relevant information for each contact to the appropriate persons in accordance with Disability Contact Center guidelines.
Assist in providing coverage for the DDS receptionist area as requested by the DCC supervisor.
Demonstrate experience in written and oral communication with individuals from varying backgrounds.
Demonstrate experience in switching between multiple tasks.
Minimum Education and Experience

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
