Position Overview

Yahoo Brand Studio supports all custom built and designed advertiser work - inclusive of ads and content - for the Yahoo Ads business. The Yahoo Brand Studio Ad Solutions Engineer is a subject matter expert in Yahoo’s premium, proprietary ad solutions that run across our O&O properties. You will act as a pre-sale technical, operational and strategic consultant to both internal teams and clients, and will leverage marketplace feedback to collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive ad product innovation and scale new ad products across the Yahoo ecosystem. 

Responsibilities Include

  • Pre-Sales Support: Collaborate with Sales and Sales Support teams to understand customer requirements, consult on pitches and present capabilities and ad-lead ideas to internal and external teams. 

  • Client-Facing Strategy & Support: Present creative solutions and act as a trusted technical consultant to advertisers. Work closely with clients to architect ad solutions that meet their business needs and goals.  

  • Creative Guidance, Best Practices & Technical Expertise: Educate clients and internal teams on creative best practices, product capabilities, value proposition, benchmarks, and case studies to drive revenue and deliver campaign success.

  • Product Collaboration & Feedback: Gather client and marketplace feedback to inform internal product teams and evolve Yahoo’s creative ad solutions. Assess new offerings through the lens of value and performance for advertisers. 

  • Process Documentation & Training: Create, maintain and update process documentation, ad specifications, best practices, and FAQs for use by cross-functional teams. 

  • Sales Enablement: Educate and train the Sales team on ad offerings, positioning and performance. 

Job Qualifications

  • 5-7+ years experience in digital display advertising (standard IAB units, proprietary ad formats, native, video) ideally as a Solutions Engineer, Creative Strategist or Account Manager. 

  • Client-facing experience pitching/selling a range of ad products and solutions. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and effectively. 

  • Highly motivated independent worker with a client-first, solutions-focused, can-do attitude. 

  • Consultative approach to client objective fulfillment and relationship development; have a deep understanding of client needs and the ability to guide them towards the right solution. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills – you can make a clear case for what you're doing and why. You are comfortable working with cross-functional teams and can speak sales with the same fluency that you can speak engineering, product and design.

  • Solid analytical, decision-making and problem solving skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment – you are well organized, have excellent attention to detail, meet tasks on short deadlines and know how to prioritize towards revenue. You’re highly adaptable and thrive in a constantly evolving space.

The compensation for this position ranges from $130,500.00 - $271,875.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
