Overview of Position
We are seeking a motivated and analytically driven Actuarial Analyst or Lead to join our Underwriting team within Assurant Dealer Services. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide actuarial support for our Agent and Dealer Services markets. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical skills, business acumen, and a collaborative mindset to help drive pricing, risk evaluation, and strategic decision-making.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job? 

  • Conduct actuarial analyses to support pricing, profitability, and risk management for a portfolio of automotive-related products.

  • Translate financial projections into actionable business metrics and insights.

  • Evaluate data from various sources to support underwriting decisions and business strategy.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including finance, accounting, and regulatory to address business needs and improve processes.

  • Develop and maintain actuarial models and reporting tools to support ongoing business monitoring and decision-making.

  • Participate in the development of methodologies to improve data quality and system efficiency.

  • Manage multiple projects with varying complexity and deadlines.

  • Support professional development through actuarial exam progress and knowledge sharing within the team.

What are the requirements needed for this position? 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or related field

  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive responsibilities  

  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive responsibilities and related experience in an actuarial role. 

  • Must be an Associate of the Actuarial Society (CAS/SOA/CIA/IFoA) 

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of post-designation experience preferred. 

  • Has specialized level of understanding actuarial concepts, insurance product and industry knowledge 

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, SharePoint. Advanced to Expert proficiency to various data repository platforms (SAS/SQL/etc.) 

  • Learns additional software tools (R, Python, DataBricks, PowerBI) that can help bring alternative and creative ways of showcasing data analysis.

Pay Range:

$86,000.00 - $143,700.00

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
