Job SummaryThe Actuarial Analyst is responsible for Actuarial Services related to enterprise products which include but are not limited to pricing, reserving, forecasting, risk adjustment, reinsurance and product development.

Requirements

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Business or other quantitative field. Two (2) actuarial exams may be substituted in lieu of degree in additional to the requirements listed below.

LICENSING/CERTIFICATION

Minimum three (3) successfully completed Society of Actuaries exams.

EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE

Minimum one (1) year actuarial experience, preferably in healthcare.

Intermediate experience in the use of relational databases, statistical packages, spreadsheet and/or database applications.

Responsibilities• Analyzes financial, statistical and mathematical data to perform actuarial calculations. • Assists in the determination of pricing, reserves and/or cash flow projections, especially to determine rate accuracy. • Assists with the Division's Annual Statement exhibits. • Communicates financial, statistical, and mathematical data results to stakeholders clearly and accurately. • Demonstrates ability to meet deadlines while providing management adequate time to review the work product. • Maintains good standing as a participant in the Actuarial Development Program. • Prepares and distributes established reports for decision-makers throught the Enterprise, responding to inquiries as needed. • Prioritizes work projects according to Enterprise needs with moderate input from management. • Provides analytic support for Enterprise and/or Divisional projects, Enterprise Risk Management, and other requests. • Retrieves and validates data for rate filings, actuarial models, and other requests as assigned. • Updates rating model factors, algorithms and studies to reflect current experience and/or changing conditions.

This position is identified as level three (3). This position must ensure the security and confidentiality of records and information to prevent substantial harm, embarrassment, inconvenience, or unfairness to any individual on whom information is maintained. The integrity of information must be maintained as outlined in the company Administrative Manual.

Segregation of Duties

Segregation of duties will be used to ensure that errors or irregularities are prevented or detected on a timely basis by employees in the normal course of business. This position must adhere to the segregation of duties guidelines in the Administrative Manual.
