About Filmhub 🎬

Filmhub is a global, all rights, film & TV distributor. Leveraging decades of industry expertise and a legacy of billions of dollars in global box office, we distribute unlimited opportunity to the storytellers, creatives, and makers who drive our industry.

Filmhub was founded by world-renowned composer and producer Klaus Badelt (Pirates of the Caribbean, Gladiator) and Silicon Valley entrepreneur Alan d’Escragnolle (Square, Intuit) and funded by the top investors in tech & entertainment including a16z & 8VC.

Pairing a global network of strategic relationships with cutting-edge technology, we represent the industry’s leaders, from producers of global blockbusters to Oscar legends, festival darlings, cinema auteurs, and indie heroes.

What's the opportunity? 🤔

As Filmhub continues to grow its catalog to meet the needs of global streaming platforms and audiences, we’re looking for a driven and well-connected Acquisitions Executive to expand our library by securing films and series from large catalog holders, distributors, and studios.

This role exists to actively source high-quality titles and form strategic partnerships that align with Filmhub’s mission. Success means bringing in top-tier titles that perform well across our network of buyers while creating a best-in-class experience for every partner.

What big questions will I answer? 💡

  • How can Filmhub grow its catalog with valuable, high-performing films & series from established industry players?

  • Which distributors, studios, and catalog holders should we build long-term relationships with?

  • What acquisition strategies (exclusive vs. non-exclusive, license terms, etc.) deliver the most value for Filmhub and our partners?

  • How can we create a scalable and repeatable process for sourcing and onboarding titles from large libraries?

  • What rights structures and deal models work best for Filmhub’s global distribution platform?

What will I be doing? 💡

  • Drive new acquisitions by identifying and sourcing high-value titles from major distributors, studios, and sales agents

  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of acquisition opportunities and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers across the industry.

  • Close strategic deals that align with Filmhub’s licensing and monetization model

  • Work cross-functionally with operations and acquisitions onboarding teams to ensure the smooth execution of licensing agreements.

  • Monitor the performance of acquired titles and adjust acquisition strategy based on data and industry trends.

  • Bring structure and clarity to the acquisitions process by tracking activities and outcomes through CRM and internal tools.

  • Represent Filmhub at industry events and markets to grow our visibility and network within the title acquisition space.

  • Help shape Filmhub’s broader catalog strategy by identifying genre, territory, and platform gaps.

What skills do I need?📖

  • 5+ years of experience in movie/film/title acquisitions, licensing, or sales within film, TV, or streaming

  • A strong, active network across distributors, studios, and catalog owners

  • Proven track record of negotiating and closing acquisition deals

  • Deep understanding of movie/series valuations, rights management, and licensing structures

  • Strong analytical skills to assess performance potential and industry trends

  • Exceptional relationship-builder and communicator, both externally and cross-functionally

  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and excited to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

  • Familiarity with CRM tools and a structured approach to deal management

How can I stand out? 🤩

  • You already have a Rolodex of active relationships with distributors, sales agents, or studios—and you know how to turn conversations into closed deals

  • You have a strong point of view on titles —what performs, what doesn’t, and how to identify sleeper hits in large catalogs

  • You bring a deal-maker mindset with a consultative approach that creates win-win partnerships

  • You’re a self-starter who thrives in ambiguity—you can build something from scratch and iterate fast

  • You treat partners like VIPs—white-glove service comes naturally to you, and it shows in your results

  • You’re metrics-minded—you know your numbers, track your progress, and are always optimizing your workflow

  • Bonus: You’ve worked at or with a fast-growing streaming platform, aggregator, or distribution company and can hit the ground running

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
