The Technical Marketing Manager will manage data integration, CRM, e-commerce operations, and website maintenance, focusing on solving technical challenges and automating processes.
Technical Marketing Manager
Type: Full-Time
About the Role
We are a growing Fractional CMO consultancy supporting four diverse small business clients,
ranging from industrial manufacturing to high-volume e-commerce. Our clients utilize different
technology stacks, and we need a highly resourceful and proactive Technical Marketing
Manager to serve as the technical backbone of our operations.
This role is not about following a step-by-step playbook. While we have support for clearly
defined, manual tasks, this position is designed for someone who excels when the scope is
undefined. You will work directly with the Fractional CMO to integrate disparate systems,
manage complex data, automate processes, and solve technical challenges that don’t come
with an instruction manual.
You will be responsible for translating marketing strategy into functional systems across
platforms like Zoho One, Shopify, Amazon Seller Central, WordPress, and various data tools.
Who You Are
You are a technical problem-solver who thrives in varied and fast-paced environments. You
don't require A-B-C instructions; you prefer to understand the ultimate goal and then leverage
your technical skills to find the best path forward. You are comfortable rapidly switching contexts
between different CRMs, e-commerce platforms, and data systems. You are highly
autonomous, exceptionally organized, and your first instinct when facing a problem is to
troubleshoot, research, and implement a solution.
Key Responsibilities
1. Data Management and Integration
● Manage, clean, and reconcile complex datasets across different systems (ERP, CRM, E-
commerce).
● Utilize advanced Excel/Google Sheets functions (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, complex
filtering) to manipulate data from disparate sources.
● Use integration tools (like Zapier) and potentially basic scripting (e.g., Python, Google
Scripts) to connect systems and automate data synchronization.
● Manage bulk data imports/exports and organize extensive product catalogs (100,000+
SKUs), including complex pricing rules and categorization.
2. E-commerce Platform Management
● Manage backend operations for Shopify and Amazon Seller Central.
● Configure complex e-commerce settings, including payment processors, shipping rates,
and shopping cart management.
● Optimize product listings for SEO, utilizing Generative AI (e.g., ChatGPT) to create and
refine titles, descriptions, and bullet points at scale.
● Troubleshoot issues related to order fulfillment, inventory sync, and platform integrations
(e.g., ShipStation).
3. CRM & Marketing Automation
● Administer and optimize CRM systems (primarily Zoho One, but experience with
HubSpot or HighLevel is valuable).
● Build and maintain automation workflows, email drip campaigns, sales pipelines, and
reorder reminders.
● Integrate the CRM with other tools (email clients, VoIP/Auto-Dialers, SMS platforms).
● Develop dashboards and reports to track marketing and sales performance.
4. Website Management & Technical Execution
● Build, update, and maintain WordPress and Shopify websites, including landing pages
optimized for conversion.
● Manage domain and hosting configurations (e.g., GoDaddy, AWS), including DNS,
DKIM, and SSL setup.
● Implement and troubleshoot tracking pixels (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager)
and ensure accurate data flow between web forms and CRMs.
● Explore and implement web scraping strategies using tools (e.g., Skrapp, Apollo) or
custom scripts (Python) to gather product data or leads.
● Manage bulk image optimization, potentially using Photoshop macros or automation.
Required Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with many of the following, and the proven
ability to quickly master the rest:
● 3+ years of experience in a technical marketing, marketing operations, systems
integration, or similar role.
● Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (must be comfortable with complex
data manipulation).
● Strong experience with CRM and Marketing Automation (Zoho One highly preferred).
● Hands-on experience managing E-commerce platforms (Shopify and Amazon Seller
Central).
● Proficiency with WordPress (page building, updates, basic troubleshooting).
● Experience with integration platforms (e.g., Zapier) and a foundational understanding of
how systems connect.
● Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills; must be able to troubleshoot and solve
technical issues independently.
● Excellent communication skills (fluent written and verbal English) and high reliability.
Preferred Qualifications
● Experience with Python for scripting, data manipulation, or web scraping.
● Familiarity with cloud environments (e.g., AWS).
● Experience with Adobe Photoshop, particularly using macros for bulk image editing.
● Knowledge of HTML/CSS.
Why Join Us?
● Autonomy and Ownership: We value efficiency and getting things done. You will be
the go-to technical expert, trusted to find and implement the best solutions
independently.
● Variety and Impact: Gain exposure to diverse industries and tech stacks, directly
contributing to the growth of multiple businesses.
● Expertise: Work closely with an experienced Fractional CMO and be the technical
engine that makes high-level marketing strategies functional.
CompensationThe base pay range for this role is $1,500 – $2,500 per month.
