About Us:

Our payment products include merchant acquiring services, a proprietary gateway, ACH processing, fraud & chargeback tools, analytics, and other value-add services. Maverick’s team includes underwriting, risk management, compliance & legal, technology & product development, on-boarding, customer support, information technology, and more.
About the Position: 
Working under the direction of the VP Risk and Underwriting, the ACH Program Manager is responsible for the oversight of merchant accounts to identify, investigate and mitigate activity that represents financial risk to the Company based on Company guidelines. 

  • Managed the oversight of the ACH Origination Program and supporting the ACH operational functions as needed.
  • Monitor ACH activity for merchant portfolio(s) and examine for abnormalities, providing detailed analysis to management regarding portfolio performance
  • Ensuring all merchant activities for compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, and policies and recommend appropriate actions. 
  • Expert in reviewing and analyzing financial, credit and publicly available information to support actions and decisions including assessing and evaluating business model risk and exposure by evaluating merchant industry type, volume, refunds, delivery time frames and return rates. 
  • SME for all aspects of ACH program
  • Managing existing and new policies as they relate to ACH and industry compliance
  • Conduct internal and external audit and assessments, addressing any recommendations or findings
  • Developed and performed ACH training programs companywide and specific role use
  • Monitoring the effectiveness and efficiency of the program, technology, tools, and processes, recommending as with limited oversight
  • Supporting specialized projects on an as-needed basis as directed by Company leadership.
  • Monitored industry trends and develop strategies for growth for ACH
  • Business partners review and oversight for acceptance, requirements, and pricing
  • Support diverse tasks within established rules/limits, which may include escalations from other employees and departments.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of experience engaged in ACH Merchant Risk Program management including monitoring ACH return ratio, POA reviews, remediation, ACH audits, and BSA/AML audits.
  • Experience with high-risk payment processing and analyzing high risk vertical spreads.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, Finance, Business Administration, or similar preferred.
  • Experience with high-risk ACH payment processing preferred.  
  • AAP, APRP or similar certification a plus or willingness to get certified (Sponsored by Maverick).

Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite including Microsoft Excel.
  • Extensive knowledge of NACHA and REG-E rules.
  • Familiarity with ACH Operating Rules and Guidelines and its applications to ODFI/RDFI
  • Knowledgeable with various tools used for underwriting and due diligence (i.e. Equifax, TIN Check, GIACT, PLAID). 
  • Understanding of all verticals, or ability to interpret business vertical to determine risks involved through risk exposure calculation. 
  • Understanding and ability to interpret Card Brand rules and regulations.
  • Ability to understand and calculate exposure at all levels.
  • Understanding of emerging technologies and trends in the ACH payments space. 
  • Excellent time management, written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Possesses strong analytical and research skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work autonomously while producing a high output of quality work.
  • Demonstrates a level of credibility and concern that one be perceived as responsible, reliable, and trustworthy.
  • Ability to ensure that one's own and other's work and information are complete and accurate. The ability to carefully prepare for meetings and presentations. The ability to follow up with others to ensure that agreements and commitments have been fulfilled.

Pay Range: $120-$145K annually 
This position will consider remote candidates in the following states:
