BDA is currently seeking a technically-driven System Administrator to join the ICT Operations team for the Air Combat Electronic Attack Sustainment Program (ACEASP) at RAAF Base Amberley, supporting the maintenance of the Growler and Super Hornet air combat capabilities. This is dual-focus role: providing essential, high-tempo operational support (BAU) while contributing to the stability and evolution of our critical ICT infrastructure.
You will be the first line of technical engagement with Squadron users, ensuring daily service and business continuity through user support and proactive system health checks, whilst assisting with higher-level infrastructure tasks such as server triage, backup management, and environment builds.

- Operational Continuity: Manage daily BAU tasks, including account management, service requests, and ICT infrastructure monitoring and triage to ensure seamless Squadron maintenance operations.
- Infrastructure Support: Assist with and/or carry out Windows Server, Citrix, Virtualisation, Database, Network and Disaster Recovery triage and remediation as directed by senior team members.
- Systems Evolution: Support the deployment and maintenance of server, desktop and network hardware, and contribute to the development of existing and new environments.
- Technical Documentation: Maintain accurate records of system configuration, change management, and operational procedures.
Experience/Qualifications
We are looking for a junior professional who is equally comfortable managing daily service requests as they are troubleshooting complex and challenging system issues.
- Technical foundation: proven experience in Windows environments, database, hardware and some Linux. Where proven experience is not available, a demonstrated strong academic background in same.
- Systems thinking: a logical approach to troubleshooting; the ability to move from "what is broken" to "why it broke".
- Technical curiosity: a demonstrated interest in and aptitude for learning advanced systems.
- Reliability & Precision: the discipline to perform rigorous system checks and adhere to strict change management protocols.
- Security: Ability to obtain a Defence Security clearance up to NEGATIVE VETTING 1. Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements.
