Job Summary

The Accounts Payable Specialist reports to the Controller and provides financial, administrative, and clerical support to both vendors and internal customers across multiple departments. This individual helps safeguard company assets by ensuring that invoice payments are controlled by processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices according to established policies and procedures in an efficient, timely, and accurate manner.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Accurately reviews/enters information regarding invoice transactions into accounting systems (Quickbooks / Stampli) , ensuring correct GL account numbers and internal stakeholder for approval.

· Investigates and resolves all PO/Invoice discrepancies by working with vendors and appropriate internal stakeholders.

· Resolves purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and ensures appropriate documentation of resolution.

· Maintains accurate files and processes in order to maximize productivity.

· Helps to support a timely month-end close process, including AP cutoff and calcuation of related accruals.

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications – Education, Experience, License/Certifications:

· High school degree or equivalent.

· Previous clerical experience in accounts payable preferred.

· Computer skills (Microsoft office suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel) and ERP/CRM systems (experience with Quickbooks or Dynamics a plus).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· High degree of detail orientation.

· Previous clerical experience in accounts payable preferred.

· High degree of professionalism in communication, attitude and teamwork with customers, peers, and management.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

· Able to read, write, and speak English.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

· Able to apply concepts of basic math.

REASONING ABILITY:

· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or verbal form.

· Ability to generate and interpret necessary reports.

Compensation:

The base compensation range for this full-time position is $25 - $32 per hour plus benefits. Compensation ranges are determined by various factors, including role, experience, and location. The pay range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within the range, actual individual compensation is determined by various factors, including location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
