Are you a proactive accounting leader who thrives at the intersection of complex financial data, healthcare reimbursement, and internal controls? Luna Care is seeking a Revenue Accounting & Controls Manager to take full ownership of our healthcare services revenue reporting, accounts receivable valuation, and outsourced RCM financial oversight. If you love digging into the details, plugging revenue leakage, and driving scalable automated reporting from the ground up, we want to hear from you.

How you will have an impact

  • Drive Revenue Integrity & Close Excellence: Lead the monthly revenue close under ASC 606, managing journal entries, accruals, reserves, and reconciliations to deliver audit-ready, institutional-grade financials.

  • Oversee Strategic Vendor Governance: Act as the independent financial checkpoint for our outsourced RCM partner—enforcing SLAs, monitoring performance metrics (denials, clean-claim rates, NCR), and holding vendors accountable to corrective actions.

  • Plug Revenue Leakage & Protect Cash: Investigate billing trends and identify reimbursement shortfalls, unbilled services, and missed authorizations, collaborating cross-functionally to recover yield and improve cash conversion.

  • Modernize Financial Architecture: Lead NetSuite and RCM system integration enhancements, automating reconciliations, exception reporting, and controls to eliminate manual workflows.

  • Provide Actionable Commercial Intelligence: Analyze revenue per visit, market trends, and payer mix to guide budgeting, executive forecasting, and pricing strategies.

    What You Will Do
    • Reconcile completed patient visits, billable services, claims, cash postings, and unapplied cash between RCM subledgers and NetSuite.

    • Oversee AR valuation, aging schedules, collectability, implicit price concessions, contractual allowances, and bad debt reserves by payer and market.

    • Establish and maintain internal controls, write-off approvals, and segregation of duties across revenue operations.

    • Validate claim-level data against financial statements to ensure accurate payment posting, aged AR management, and timely collections.

    • Partner with Operations, Finance, and Tech teams to design automated dashboards and eliminate recurring operational bottlenecks.

What Luna can do for you

  • Comprehensive health coverage (medical, dental, and vision) for you and your family on the first of the month following your start date.
  • Flexible PTO and paid holidays to recharge and care for what matters most.
  • 401(k) with company match to invest in your future.
  • Wellness benefits, paid life insurance, and more!
  • Remote-first flexibility with opportunities to connect in person at company gatherings.
  • A culture built on trust, purpose, and belonging—where every voice matters.

What you can do for Luna

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

    • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with a strong foundation in revenue recognition (ASC 606), accounts receivable valuation, and internal controls.

    • Deep knowledge of healthcare reimbursement models, insurance claims workflows, and Revenue Cycle Management (RCM).

    • Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities and solid experience navigating modern ERP environments.

    • Proven ability to analyze complex billing subledgers, reconcile massive datasets, and communicate financial insights across business units.

    • Strongly Preferred Qualifications:

      • Active CPA license.

      • Hands-on NetSuite implementation or systems integration experience.

      • Prior experience in outpatient healthcare, physical therapy, or multi-site clinic operations.

      • Experience managing outsourced RCM vendor SLAs, remediation plans, and vendor audits.

      • Familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Power BI or SQL.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
