Lead and supervise accounting and reporting activities for PALNG expansion entities, manage financial reporting, coordinate with external auditors, and ensure compliance with US GAAP and SOX.

Primary Purpose
Responsible for leading and supervising the accounting and reporting activities of Port Arthur LNG (PALNG) expansion entities. This role acts as team lead for the monthly accounting close, as well as performs high-level, complex accounting assignments and related analysis.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead the PALNG expansion entities' accounting close, consistent with Sempra Global and Sempra Energy’s accounting practices and generally accepted accounting principles.
- Coordinate the internal and external financial reporting to the parent company and external stakeholders. This would include the preparation and/or review of the legal and business unit consolidation and combination. Financial Reporting shall consist of the Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow and related disclosure items. Preparation and/or review of the Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow variance analysis against plan and prior year.
- Manage the execute cost/spend reporting.
- Stand up the accounting function associated with PALNG expansion.
- Supervise and assist staff with monthly tasks, review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Coordinate Internal Audit’s financial audits and Joint Venture audits of PALNG expansion entities.
- Research and document technical accounting issues in accordance with US GAAP related to BU transactions.
- Work closely with the independent external auditors on the annual audit of affiliated legal entities based on Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Work closely with Joint Venture partners in providing financial reports and dealing with ad hoc information requests.
- Research and document technical accounting issues in accordance with US GAAP and working with the Accounting Research team.
- Coordinate with the Shared Services functions and PALNG Accounting team the receipt and review of financial information.
- Review budget reports for cost centers and project cost reports for development projects.
- Oversee and manage the monthly general ledger closing cycle for multiple companies.
- Coordinate Sempra Energy’s tax, treasury and legal services as it relates to PALNG’s expansion entities accounting activities and policies.
- Coordinate SOX 404 compliance.
- Document accounting cycles and insures that the accounting records and controls are SOX compliant.
- Assist the PALNG expansion business in its record retention of contracts and key corporate documents.
- Manage the personnel requirements of the PALNG accounting organization related to hiring, career development, performance standards and management training.
- Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Accounting, finance or business administration or equivalent experience.
- 8+ Accounting and industry experience with knowledge of advanced accounting and financial theory.
- Must be able to convey in verbal and original written correspondence and reports, complex technical matter in a clear and concise manner for a broad audience, from executive management to those with little industry knowledge.
- Requires a thorough knowledge of accounting methods and techniques and the ability to apply both in problem solving.
- Requires a thorough knowledge of 'generally accepted accounting principles.
- Must have skills in leadership and teambuilding, organizing, planning and controlling, coordinating, and delegating to effectively manage and develop staff and achieve organizational goals.
- Must have the ability to work in a large complex organization and to build both internal and external relationships to achieve desired objectives.

- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
- Master's Degree MBA or advanced degrees.
