Position Summary

Howard is seeking a strategic and experienced Accounting Director to lead accounting services for a diverse portfolio of HOA, hospitality, trust, and short-term rental clients.

This senior leadership role serves as the primary client partner, ensuring the delivery of exceptional financial oversight, operational stability, and consistent service excellence. The Director will lead Senior Controllers and their teams while advancing process standardization, strengthening internal controls, and leveraging technology and automation to enhance scalability and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the principal financial advisor and relationship lead for assigned clients, fostering strong, professional partnerships built on trust and accountability.
  • Provide executive-level financial oversight across HOA communities, hospitality entities, trust accounts, and short-term rental portfolios.
  • Lead and develop Senior Controllers and accounting teams to ensure accuracy, consistency, and high service standards.
  • Stabilize and enhance client accounting operations, ensuring timely and reliable financial reporting.
  • Review and approve monthly financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, fund accounting principles, fiduciary standards, and HOA governing documents.
  • Present financial results and strategic insights to HOA Boards and client leadership.
  • Strengthen internal controls and safeguard operating, reserve, and trust funds.
  • Drive continuous improvement through process optimization, automation initiatives, and technology integration.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred).
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience.
  • Strong HOA and fund accounting experience required.
  • Experience with trust accounting and hospitality/ short-term rental/property management accounting required
  • Demonstrated success managing senior-level client relationships.
  • Proven ability to lead multiple teams within a multi-client service environment.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and executive presentation skills.
