Job Title: Accounting and Payroll Manager

Location: G&B / GGET Main Office, retail locations

Classification: Full-time, exempt

Reports to: Director of Strategic Operations

Compensation: $75 - $90k

About the Job

The Accounting and Payroll Manager is responsible for recording daily transactions, reconciling accounts and managing AP/AR. They will work closely with outsourced bookkeepers. They will process the company’s biweekly payroll, generate financial reports, and ensure compliance in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.


Essential Duties

  • Maintain the company’s books
    • Record daily transactions
    • Resolve discrepancies between internal bookkeeping records and bank statements
  • Manage accounts payable & receivable
    • Track payments and process vendor bills in a timely manner
  • Process Payroll and generate financial reports
    • Calculate wages, manage tax withholdings, and submit payroll files
    • Prepare profit and loss statements

 

Other Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP
  • Perform HRIS admin work related to payroll, ensuring that new employees are onboarded to timekeeping and payroll systems
  • Participate in periodic budgeting meetings
QualificationsQualifications & Experience
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • Must have accounting or bookkeeping experience in a multi-unit retail or food service company
  • Strong experience using industry-standard accounting software
Required Skills & Abilities
  • Strong math and analytical skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Experience creating and perpetually improving systems
  • Good understanding of large-scale retail operations and the various systems supporting them
  • Demonstrable ability to think critically and build solutions to problems you encounter
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to provide reliable transportation to/from work and for work-related errands
  • Must be proficient with Email, Google Drive, Slack and Microsoft Office
